Position Summary

Use your QA testing skills to cultivate innovative technologies for a fast-growing segment within Deloitte Tax. Be on the cutting edge of a rapidly growing industry and work with a team of proven innovators!

Work you’ll do

As a QA on our team you will be working closely with Tax SMEs, Business Analysts, and application developers to aggregate, prioritize, and report out on impact of the top quality issues affecting the projects. Additionally, you will:

  • Collaborates with Tax SMEs, Business Analysts, and application developers to ensure a shared understanding of the business model and the detailed function requirements.
  • Creates and maintain the Test Plans, Requirements Traceability Matrices, Test Cases, and Test Metrics.
  • Designs test cases in a manner that supports both manual and automation testing for web based tax applications.
  • Executes end-to-end functional and automated tests cases and creates clearly documented defects that enable a developer to recreate the issue.
  • Write SQL queries and utilize SQL Server Management Studio for various testing scenarios.
  • Ensure the quality and low bug rates of code released into production. 
  • Follow QA processes and procedures throughout the testing life cycle.
  • Responsible for conducting analysis of defects with development team, BA and other stakeholders, replicating issues for analysis and resolution.
  • Participates in scrum daily status and project status calls to provide accurate updates on deliverable timelines and status.
  • Support system testing by following up on and closing defect tickets in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate and work with QA team members in U.S. and U.S.-India.
  • Collaborate with BA/SME team to review test cases.
  • Analyze feature requirements and assist in identifying requirement enhancements to improve product efficiency.
  • Conduct feature demonstrations for stakeholders once testing is concluded.
  • Perform Production and test environments smoke testing for patch, Production release and deployments
  • Assist in performance testing as applicable.
  • Create regression test suite and maintain it throughout the release cycle.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business information systems, computer science, business/technology or similar degree
  • 3+ years’ experience in QA Testing
  • Knowledge of QA process and testing methodology
  • Ability to analyze testing requirements based on the business requirements
  • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated).
  • Assure timely completion of testing for projects as well as comprehensive bug tracking and reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in business information systems, computer science, business/technology or similar degree
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies
  • Experience with writing SQL Scripts for testing
  • Experience of Agile methodologies and SCRUM processes.
  • Experience in creation/maintenance of testing artifacts using test management tools preferably Azure DevOps.
  • Travel up to 25% (While 25% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:

  • ISTQB certified software tester certification obtained or in process or must be able/willing to obtain.
  • Experience working in Financial Services environment.
  • Experience working in consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and virtually.
  • Ability to understand business problem(s) being addressed by the project.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Experience with automated testing tools – preferably Selenium.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools preferably Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of an object-oriented programming is a plus – preferably C#
