Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Project Delivery Specialist, Core Business Operations, Systems Engineering in Los Angeles, CA  and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally. 

 

Work You’ll Do 

Drive software development and implementation services to help companies unlock the value of big technology investments, ranging from requirements to architecture, design to development, and testing to deployment, as discrete services or comprehensive solutions. Participate in developing work plans, coordinate with onshore teams on requirements and resolution of queries, coordinate activities between workstreams and identify changes in scope. Lead the evaluation of technology needs, develop customized applications and draft technical and functional design documentation; identify and mitigate risks in process and technology for engagements. Perform assessments of existing information systems, and identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities; estimate time and resources needed for the development work. Design sub-components of larger application systems; integrate software applications with each other and continuously optimize the system structure to improve stability and performance. Define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design, prototype, and test custom technology solutions, and support system implementation.

Requirements 

Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, any STEM field, or a related field and two (2) years of work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Must also have two (2) years of related work experience involving each of the following:

  • Driving with phases of the Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of enterprise application development projects, including requirements gathering and analysis, estimating, scoping, developing prototypes and mockups, designing (functional and technical), coding, and testing, utilizing Core Java 1.8, J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition), Apache tools Struts and iBATIS, Spring, JDBC (Java Database Connectivity), and Hibernate;
  • Building Web based User Interface (UI) components, utilizing JSP (Java Server Pages), JQuery, ICEfaces, and designing prototypes utilizing JSP and HTML (Hypertext Markup Language);
  • Participating in brainstorming and knowledge transfer sessions with Business partners, translating Business Requirements into Technical Requirements, and preparing and delivering Detailed Business Requirements documents to client stakeholders;
  • Creating High Level (HLD) and Detailed Technical Design Documents (TDD), including dataflow diagrams, sequence diagrams, database design details, and queries to be used in web applications, and presenting TDDs to Application Architects for approval;
  • Designing and developing SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) and REST (Representational State Transfer) Webservices, utilizing Axis 2.0, Apache CXF, RESTful webservices Framework Eclipse Jersey, Soap UI, XMLSpy (Extensible Markup Language), and developing Java Batch jobs and UNIX Shell scripts to run jobs;
  • Utilizing Eclipse and IBM RSA (Rational Software Architect) to develop code and conduct code walkthroughs and reviews to ensure code quality, deploying code to Development and Staging Servers, utilizing WebSphere Application Server (WAS), JBoss, Apache Tomcat, and Sun ONE;
  • Participating in Database design discussions utilizing Rational Database Management Systems techniques, incorporating the complex database queries provided by Database team into the Application Code to process and save User information to the Database and to present Business Reports in Web applications;
  • Coordinating with Quality Assurance (QA) team during System Integration Testing (SIT), reviewing QA tests for Functional Test Coverage, and tracking defects utilizing Atlassian JIRA, HP Quality Center (HPQC), and IBM Rational ClearQuest;
  • Coordinating with QA team to complete SIT and End-to-End testing, implementing software into production environment, providing warranty support, and delivering projects in Waterfall and Agile with Scrum methodologies; and
  • Generating status reports for projects and releases and providing to leadership, attending leadership meetings for status updates on projects and releases, tracking release progress, and identifying and mitigating risks and gaps in processes.
