Work you’ll do

Deloitte LLP is searching for an attorney to specialize in vendor contracting to support its Government and Public Services (GPS) focused business practices. 


  • Draft, review, and negotiate vendor contracts, primarily technology-related agreements, such as license agreements, hosting agreements, software development agreements, SaaS, and managed service provider agreements.
  • Advise and provide solutions to internal business clients serving GPS industry-based clients on issues specific to vendor contracting and relationships.
  • Provide legal advice regarding negotiation strategies, contractual terms, intellectual property matters, supplier relations and compliance matters.
  • Work with colleagues and other Deloitte personnel to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Experience Requirements

  • 4 – 6 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in a leading law firm and/or large in-house department.
  • 2+ years of focused legal practice in analysis, review, drafting and negotiating complex vendor contracts.
  • Experience with technology-related agreements, such as license agreements, software development agreements, hosting agreements, and SaaS.
  • Experience with intellectual property-related issues that arise in the context of supplier agreements.
  • Experience advising various stakeholders on contractual and other transactional matters, preferably regarding procurement-related issues.
  • Experience in negotiating data licenses, artificial intelligence and machine learning agreements is not required but a plus.
  • Expertise in federal government contracts law, including FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes and regulations, and/or knowledge of state and local government procurement rules is not required but a plus.

  • Law degree.

  • Active member of a U.S. State bar.
  • Aptitude for learning. Must be able to quickly understand trends in vendor contracting generally.
  • Exceptional negotiating skills.
  • Business acumen with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment with short deadlines, as required.
