Position Summary

Would you like to take part in a growing Center of Excellence? If you are looking for your next step, we are expanding Deloitte’s Private Equity Independence Center of Excellence (PEI CoE). We are seeking a high-performing Senior Manager 2 who wants to build off their existing experience in audit, accounting, or independence compliance and use such knowledge to add value to Deloitte’s quality assurance and risk management practice, expand their expertise with Independence rules, support business growth within the Private Equity sector and develop relationships with Private Equity Investors (PEIs), and leaders across the Deloitte’s businesses and global Independence & Conflicts Network. As a Senior Manager 2 in the PEI CoE, you will supervise a team of professionals in the US and in India to manage independence for Deloitte’s largest PEI clients in order to mitigate compliance risk and enabling Deloitte’s growth strategy in the Private Equity Sector.

Work You’ll Do

As a Senior Manager 2 in the PEI CoE, you will closely work with PEI CoE Managing Directors, Lead Client Service Partners, Deloitte Independence Directors, PEI clients, audit engagement teams, and Partners and Managing Directors across Deloitte Businesses on independence matters associated with the PEIs and their portfolio companies involving but not limited to the following:

Affiliate considerations for portfolio companies in a PEI structure and related documentation

Accuracy and completeness of PEI information in Deloitte’s systems

Evaluation of identified conflicts

Monitor PEI transactions

Assessment of permissibility of services and relationships under applicable independence ruleset

Engagement with PEI clients, as needed

Engagement with the global Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN), as needed

Development of enhanced processes and procedures including, but not limited to implementation of technology and streamlining of workflows in the PEI CoE

Supervising and development of PEI CoE team members in the US and in India

Development of educational materials on PEI related independence considerations for engagement teams working in a PEI complex

Participation in relevant PEI meetings and conference to provide independence perspective from the PEI CoE

Ad hoc support of audit engagement teams affiliated with PEI trees

Ad hoc support on pursuit efforts associated with portfolio companies of PEIs

The team

The PEI CoE team performs a critical quality assurance and risk management function for Deloitte US, helping the organization remain unbiased and free from conflicts-of-interest, in fact and appearance, when providing service to attest/audit clients within a PEI complex. Independence requirements are defined by specific sets of policies, external rules, and regulations, so maintaining both the independence of the Deloitte US and its professionals is essential to the business and reputation of Deloitte.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent (preferably accounting, finance, business, compliance, or legal)
  • 12+ years of relevant experience, ideally in auditor independence
  • Deep experience collaborating with multiple and various stakeholders, including skills and abilities that enable direct interaction with leaders
  • consultative experience such that you are trusted to operate with a significant level of autonomy
  • Ability to organize and lead relationships and interactions on complex, nuanced, and more significant matters with client service teams

       Strong communication skills and ability to work with various audiences and levels of seniority across the globe

       Positive attitude, initiative, good judgment, and dedication to quality with the ability to react positively in an environment where priorities and deadlines can quickly change and you’ll work on multiple initiatives at once

       Outstanding attention to detail along with strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills

       Strong time management and prioritization skills, including being responsive to requests from our internal and external clients

  • Proficient in the use of standard office-productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

  • Private equity industry experience
  • Significant experience in public accounting, ideally with PEIs
  • Advanced knowledge of the independence & compliance framework for professional auditing firms

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 126,535 to 207,865 .

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
