Position Summary

Power & Utilities Delivery Lead - Senior Manager

Work you’ll do

• Responsible for overall management and delivery of large system implementation/integration programs and typical workstreams and teams through all phases of the system development lifecycle.
• Oversee all the program’s project teams- Functional, Technical, Architecture, PMO, Business Process, Testing, and Deployment across all program stakeholder groups- Deloitte, Client, other vendors
• Quality management including Deliverable Quality, Internal Quality Pulse Checks, Quarterly Partner Reviews, and Quality Engagement Reviews.
• Financial management including WBS management, staff plan/cost management, and internal reporting
• Stakeholder management/alignment
• Commercial/change control and budget management
• Core project management processes including methodology, standards/tools, risk and issue management, schedule management, document management, and integration management.
• Assess and evaluate risks/issues as required
• Client senior leader relationship management
• Mentor, educate, and train colleagues as requested

Power, Utilities and Renewables

The Power, Utilities, & Renewables sector is undergoing significant regulatory changes while shifts in outage management are causing many industry leaders to rethink their governance models. Customer expectations for digital connectivity and ease of access are driving business process redesign around the customer experience. Connectivity to the grid is key, and companies are adopting new strategies for asset maintenance and more efficient methods of energy generation and distribution. Deloitte provides a large majority of the Fortune 500 P&U companies with Consulting services now, but moving forward, we have launched a growth strategy to at least double our revenue over the next 3-5 years. By working with Deloitte’s Offering Portfolios to update our mix of services to our clients (digital technologies, SAP HANA, Cloud, Grid and Operations technologies), we are committed to helping our clients work with newly empowered customers, hyper-connected digital ecosystems, and expansion in data.

Qualifications

Required:

• 15+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience in Power & Utilities with systems including ADMS, OMS, DMS, D-SCADA, GIS, and/or EMS

• 15+ years of managing large systems engineering technology engagements as a Project Manager

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems

• Experience in leading a large team and managing consulting vendors, subcontractor resources, and cross team dependencies with deep understanding of utility operations

• Experience in multiple full life cycle implementations of large system implementation projects across multiple operating companies

• Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills: ability to build relationships with, engage and challenge multiple client stakeholders across multiple business units

• Experience of developing and reviewing detailed design specifications and documentation for multiple stakeholders

• Tools including- HP PPM, HP ALM, MS Office (including Project and Visio)

• Superior verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation skills across various levels of stakeholders (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio)

• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement

• Project Management professional (PMP) Certification is preferred

• Eagerness to mentor junior staff

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $161,000 to $261,000
