Position Summary

Payroll Analyst 

Finance & Administration, part of Deloitte Services LP, is responsible for carrying out a variety of internal support responsibilities in terms of financial oversight and workplace operations.  Our Financial Support Services and Workplace Experience teams provide the expertise, support, tools, and resources that enable our businesses to get their jobs done better, faster, and more efficiently.

 

Work you’ll do

Review information to ensure accurate tax withholding.  Support employees and directors related to the Long Term Travel and Other Tax Jurisdiction programs.  Review and ensure accurate categorization of leave pay to comply with state regulations.  Review and process daily offcycle payments to comply with labor laws.  Interpret company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.  Innovate by identifying opportunities to improve processes.

  • Determine appropriate tax set up for active employees when relocating and review and rectify incorrect tax set ups by other teams based on employee work and resident locations to ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations
  • Reallocate New Jersey and New York Disability pay to comply with state paid leave laws
  • Review and process daily offcycle payments via check or electronic payment
  • Support USI rotator departures from the US by calculating and initiating PTO payout and processing the transfer back to India in SAP
  • Long Term Travel subject matter expert duties, which includes interpreting policy, responding to employee inquiries and auditing data received from employees or engagement leaders for accuracy and compliance with firm policy and IRS regulations
  • Support the Other Tax Jurisdiction process by researching and responding to employee questions and updating tax set ups as needed to reduce the number of W-2 corrections
  • Review W-2Cs for accuracy and distribute to active and separated employees
  • Participate in projects across US and India teams

 

 

The Team

The Resource Team is part of the Payroll and Personnel Solutions (PPS) organization.  The team is responsible for specialized programs, processing and quality control.  This team works closely with other groups within the organization, such as Legal, Tax, Technology, Talent, Global Mobility, Payroll Taxes, Payroll Processing, Technology and other payroll teams.   

 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 2 years of experience in a comparable role specializing in payroll and/or human resources
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Effective problem solving, interpretive, and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and prioritize work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Foster professional, productive work climate with teams and form partnerships with internal customers and stakeholders
  • Leverages experience, knowledge, internal and external networks when confronted with new situations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
