The US Office of Security (OOS) is an enabling area within the Finance & Administration organization, supporting all Deloitte U.S. professionals. The Security Manager will support the Office of Security operations, including conducting risk assessments, threat analyses, security program design and other responsibilities to keep Deloitte professionals safe particularly when traveling and working abroad. The role will participate in a variety of special projects, research, and activities to include security awareness presentations and leadership briefings. The role answers to a Senior Manager and Managing Director within the Office of Security.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
• Track security threats and events across the span of international projects of the Deloitte US firm
• Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to assist US Business leaders and proposal teams in assessing security risks for new business development or ongoing project work outside of the US
• Conduct on-site security assessments of locations outside of the US and make recommendations to Deloitte US Business Leaders regarding security considerations for new business development or ongoing project delivery
• Collaborate with Deloitte US Quality Risk Management (QRM) leaders to determine the feasibility of project delivery in non-US locations
• Update Deloitte Security leadership as necessary on changes to risk levels or events that could impact international projects of the US firm or Deloitte US personnel traveling internationally
• Attend briefings and represent the Security team at internal meetings and events
• Prepare briefings for Security leadership on security activities and security concerns that could impact the Deloitte US firm
• Manage third-party contractor and security vendor relationships
• Develop Scope of Work documentation for security vendor procurements that will support US projects in high-risk locations
• Evaluate Request for Proposals from security vendors
• Respond to global crisis events that may have the potential to impact professionals and business operations
• Be available to respond on a 24x7 basis, when necessary
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Demonstrate the following competencies:
• Proficient and knowledgeable in a wide range of security-related areas, to include international business development and operations, security methods within a corporate environment, business continuity planning, crisis management planning and response, implementation of physical security programs, etc.
• Experience working within a professional services firm or a multinational company
• Proficient in establishing business goals, client delivery and associated processes
• Strong interpersonal skills; be able to articulate issues/concerns to colleagues, business leaders and external contacts at every level
• Ability to conduct difficult conversations
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills
• Communicate and explain complex ideas in a clear and manner to business leaders and peers
• Leverage the appropriate communication channels, tools, and techniques to deliver meaningful and actionable insights and deliverables
• Ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences and circumstances
• Demonstrate confidence and competence as a presenter; adjust style to address a wide range of audiences
• Must be able to work well under pressure and maintain composure/demeanor during crisis situations
• Track record of providing exceptional client service, including responding critical issues with a sense of urgency, accountability, and integrity
• Holds self and others accountable for ensuring that results are achieved
• Self-starter with the ability to produce results without direct supervision
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to create and deliver effective presentations
• Approximately 40% travel is required, including international travel
Required Education, Experience and Other Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required, major in International Relations or a related field preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a corporate security function
• Prior experience in diplomatic security, other law enforcement or military is preferred
• At least two (2) years leadership experience with a large-scale multinational corporation or professional services firm
• Foreign language proficiency is considered a plus
• Currently hold or capable of obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance
