Position Summary

Network Partner Engagement Specialist

Engagement Specialists play a critical innovation strategy role advancing Deloitte’s US Consulting-wide New Business Growth Agenda. The ES partners closely with an Engagement Manager to translate growth strategies into action, leveraging the capabilities of NBI and serving as the integration point to help achieve those goals. The role collaborates with teams across New Business Innovation (NBI) – Deloitte Consulting’s corporate innovation function focused on driving growth – and the Innovation and Asset Leaders (IALs) representing each Offering Portfolio and Industry to drive innovation investment, activate ecosystem strategy, challenge traditional structures, and develop the capabilities needed to reach our growth goals. As a member of the team shaping and developing NBI’s relationships within the business, the ES will be at the center of transforming Deloitte’s traditional Consulting business model.

The ES role will invest time understanding the unique context of each business leader and serve as a thought partner to the Engagement Manager as they shape relationship strategy and team priorities. The Engagement Specialist will drive the execution of tailored engagement strategies with each Offering and Industry IAL and be responsible for owning and building close relationships with their staff/teams. Through partnership with NBI’s Investment Management team and their networks, the ES will help track the progress of our innovation investments and tell the story of our collective impact.

Through research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, recommendation development, and content development, the Engagement Specialist will enable the Network Partnerships team to act decisively on transformative issues identified in partnership with the IALs so the firm is:

  • Moving the ‘Big Rocks’ - Sensing and identifying the big, shared issues that must be addressed at a cross-consulting level to support hybrid businesses, facilitating the development of recommendations/solutions for those issues and orchestrating efforts to make change within Deloitte
  • Working Smarter, Not Harder - Identifying, codifying and activating learnings and best in class thinking across the full network so they benefit from one another’s experiences as they incubate and build businesses, following an investment strategy and development path modeled on venture capital practices

In this role, the Engagement Specialist will support high quality interactions and strategic engagement with the senior stakeholders driving innovation strategy and new ventures for our Consulting practice - including the Chief Innovation Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Business Architect, Chief Data Officer, SGO Leaders, OP/Industry Leaders and their respective IALs.

Work You’ll Do:

As an Engagement Specialist, you have the ability to shape how Deloitte innovates, working directly with the key leaders responsible for building net new businesses. In this role, you will:

  • Regularly engage Innovation & Asset Leaders (I&ALs) and their teams to advance strategy, surface issues, facilitate information exchanges, enable investment management, etc.
  • Conduct analysis and shape recommendations to drive deeper strategic conversations with IAL teams
  • Drive continuous process improvement for interactions with other NBI teams and network stakeholders
  • Develop communications materials, guidance documents and executive briefings to support all engagement with the I&ALs, colleagues in NBI and the leaders of hybrid businesses
  • Drive key strategic initiatives and sprint projects in support of the Shared I&AL/NBI Agenda
  • Support effective innovation portfolio strategy and management through data collection, analysis and visualization
  • Codify lessons learned and best practices, driving activation across key stakeholder groups in the Network
  • Collaborate deeply within the Network Partnerships team to drive knowledge sharing and connectivity across the full spectrum of Offering Portfolios and Industries
  • Build trust and relationships across NBI and the Network to facilitate candid and productive collaboration

This is primarily a virtual role. May include 10-15% travel requirements.
