Work you’ll do/Responsibilities

The Network Engineer directly supports experimental and operational satellite missions This is a client facing role local to Deloitte’s Orlando based delivery center with a focus on supporting cloud and infrastructure technologies across multiple client projects.


  • This position directly supports experimental and operational satellite missions
  • This individual will work on a team comprised of fellow Network Engineers, Systems Administrators, Software Developers and Software Testers who utilize lifecycle management frameworks, such as Scrum and Agile, to complete new IT projects and maintain existing infrastructure
  • Responsible for the monitoring and support of Network Infrastructure & Virtual Server Environments (Fortinet Routers, Switches, Firewalls, & VPN’s, Servers, Storage Area Networks, & VMware) and be able to troubleshoot, install, implement and administer network systems
  • This individual will ensure planned testing activities are executed, develop network security guidelines and configure network equipment
  • Perform network design/monitoring, permissions management, account management, user activity logging, and IPS/IDS monitoring
  • Design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities
  • Prepare the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling
  • Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Establish overall strategic network standards and priorities to maintain the network baseline

The Solutions Network (SNET) is a Service Line of New Business Innovation (NBI) which is the leading-edge services development facility for Deloitte Consulting; focused on creating cloud-based IaaS, Automation tools/scripts, enhancements of various Infrastructure technologies. The portfolio spans multiple Cloud technologies including Public & Private Cloud environments alongside DevOps expertise.

Our strategy is to augment our leading build and services practice with various Network technology platforms that strike at the heart of our clients' business problems providing them with differentiated products. To do this, our SNET is built up of multiple teams including various Cloud platforms, solution architects and engineers, infrastructure, and operations staff. All of which follow our engineering and quality assurance methods and standards. Our dedicated space is equipped with Smart Board technology and interactive team environments along with state-of-the-art video conferencing facilities.

  • Sound knowledge of network security and control models
  • 2 or more years’ experience using Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiWAF, Fortimanager, Forti Analyzer)
  • Knowledge of communication protocols, specifically routing protocols like BGP, OSPF as well as TCP/IP
  • Good understanding of discipline process; information and data management, configuration control
  • Record of success in contributing to the completion of programs and projects; ability to obtain results and make key recommendations
  • Ability to provide high level summary of results and draw conclusions based on interpretation of data
  • Experience with VDOM’s, VLANs, and VPN’s
