Description

M&A Services (MAS) is a Strategic Growth Offering (SGO) that spans all four of Deloitte’s functional businesses. The National M&A Services team supports the cross-functional MAS leadership team by leading and executing strategic projects and initiatives that support our strategy and growth ambition. We play a key role in providing connectivity and building engagement across our complex, multifaceted practice.

 

Our team seeks a Manager-level professional to lead a variety of initiatives, often simultaneously. In this role, you will develop the project/initiative vision and approach, manage diverse stakeholders, prepare executive-level presentations, coordinate/facilitate leadership meetings, and manage the overall delivery and execution of each project. You will work closely with both client service PPMDs/professionals, internal stakeholders and our extended team members across Marketing, KM, Finance, Talent, Learning & Development, and other enabling areas.

 

Work you’ll do:

  • Manage the cross-functional MAS go-to-market Industry Program through annual strategic planning, regular leadership discussions, and related supporting initiatives
  • Co-lead select Talent & Culture initiatives, such as rewards & recognition campaigns, national “M&A Services Roadshows,” and others as needed
  • Contribute to priorities in support of our ability to win cross-functionally in the marketplace, such as best-in- class pursuit materials and quals
  • Coordinate other strategic projects and initiatives that are top priority to the M&A Services leadership and long-term strategy (e.g., cross-functional MAS NextGen Innovation efforts)
  • Use your analytical mindset to conduct quantitative analyses of our marketplace and firm financial data, in order to generate insights in support of strategic decision-making
  • Build compelling stories and presentations, with details, logic, and content tailored to the appropriate audience
  • Collaborate with and influence a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders
  • Design, manage and optimize operational processes, reporting tools, and deliverables

 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage and collaborate with team members across various locations in a virtual work environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills – role requires the ability to communicate clearly and to influence various senior-level stakeholders and leaders.
  • A proactive work ethic (“self-starter”) that also embraces a collaborative (“team player”) approach to project

work.

  • A high level of intellectual curiosity and flexibility, with demonstrated ability to problem-solve.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and act in utmost confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Comfort with ambiguity as our priorities / project scope may change depending on leadership priorities.
  • A high degree of self-confidence, executive presence, judgment, and empathy.
  • Advanced MS Power Point, Excel and Word skills.

Required capabilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with preference for a business-related (e.g., Finance, Economics) or a technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of prior relevant experience in client-facing or internal roles within professional services organization such as Deloitte.
  • Flexible work style with possible travel (approx. 10%). A US-based office location is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

 

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the M&A and Restructuring market and Deloitte’s M&A practice
  • Direct client service experience within one of our four major businesses or their equivalents in another professional services firm

Understanding of our firm’s financial systems and performance reporting (e.g., Mercury, SWIFT)
