Deloitte Services LP seeks a Manager, Software Solutions Specialist in Dallas, TX.

Work You’ll Do

Conduct analysis for new releases/upgrades and make recommendations with respect to the operational and administrative functions of multiple Business Intelligence (BI) platforms. Support activities that are technical in nature and require a strong understanding of the Business Intelligence platforms. Participate in the orchestration of product, upgrades, capacity management, and application monitoring. Communicate and troubleshoot issues across multiple departments. Manage, install, configure and maintain Business Intelligence platform software releases. Conduct analysis for new releases/upgrades and make recommendations as appropriate. Schedule and perform software installations and upgrades to the Business Intelligence platform in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Define and administer the change management process for promoting objects through the landscape. Provide direction and guidance to junior system administration staff to assist them in their role and understanding of more complex systems administration. Utilize knowledge of best practices and industry standards to maintain optimal performance of the by conducting ongoing performance monitoring and tuning. Maintain and increase technical knowledge by attending workshops and participating in professional development activities. Complete documentation of infrastructure and associated processes. Provide on-call production support as needed. Create support tickets and work with vendors to resolve issues as needed. Develop database backup and recovery procedures as well as Business Continuity Plans.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Three years of experience designing and implementing Business Intelligence (BI) tools and systems.
  • Experience must include three years of:
    • Installing and configuring Tableau and SAP Business Objects applications;
    • Defining and administrating the change management process for promoting objects through migration landscape and assessing security and availability capacity management;
    • Scheduling and performing software installations and upgrades to platforms in accordance with established IT policies and procedures, and conducting analyses and recommendations for new releases/upgrades;
    • Developing audit reports for applications, managing licenses for Tableau Desktop, and establishing new projects for Tableau and BOE;
    • Developing and writing technical documentation, and creating documentation for project administration and developer usage;
    • Planning, designing, and deploying business objects on cluster environments, and monitoring UNIX and Windows Servers for use by support team applications;
    • Performing all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, analysis, design, system information, performance tuning, and testing and support;
    • Designing a Disaster Recovery plan based on business requirements;
    • Utilizing VB Macros SDK to extract data from CMS; and
    • Working with internal teams and vendors to troubleshoot database connectivity, user access, schedule issues and system performance tuning.
  • In the alternative, the employer is willing to accept a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience as stated above.
