Position Summary

Deloitte’s Learning & Development (L&D) function delivers skills-focused, tailored and relevant, and in-the-flow/balanced development experience to drive growth and performance.  We strive to empower Deloitte professionals to help tackle some of the most complex issues in business, our communities and society at large by enabling rapid and targeted upskilling that drives individual and organizational agility.

The Research, Strategy, and Enablement (RS&E) Team serves as the strategic arm to the US Firm’s CLO and L&D leadership team, also providing support for all the L&D teams.  RS&E is responsible for:


  • Implementing the L&D Strategy and socializing it across business and Talent leadership
  • Incorporating the L&D brand and narrative across learner-facing communications
  • Measuring and articulating the L&D Strategy implementation
  • Sharing our leading practices and successes through external eminence
  • Conducting research and sensing to define and recommend enhancements to the L&D experience
  • Coordinating and enabling capability-building on design skills and methods and enabling on technologies
  • Defining the ecosystem and technology stack to support the L&D experience


The Work You’ll Do


As a Manager on the RS&E team, you work at the direction of the RS&E Leader and with RS&E team members to determine design elements and technologies that yield innovative, engaging, and effective experiences that reflect the L&D strategic priorities around skills-focused, tailored, and relevant, and in-the-flow/balanced learning.  You will build around these areas across L&D through internal and external research and sensing, data analysis and synthesis, and the development and articulation of findings, considerations, and recommendations.  In this capacity, you manage and support cross-L&D project teams, provide consultative support to L&D teams, and collaborate with other stakeholders across Talent, IT, Talent Services, the businesses, USI, contractors, vendors, and Global, as well as with external L&D industry groups.


L&D Experience


  • Validate L&D Strategy priorities and development experience objectives, gaps, and needs
  • Compile and assess leading experience design practices from across L&D teams and at other external organizations
  • Compile, track, and assess enabling technology solution pilots and implementations across L&D teams, and other solutions available in the market
  • Align technology solutions against experience design elements or L&D lifecycle operations and use cases, and capture pros, cons, and implementation and integration considerations
  • Support L&D teams in identifying the technology solutions they require and developing business cases for solution review and approval
  • Develop, implement, and maintain capability-building plans for topics aligned with the desired development experiences and/or L&D lifecycle processes
  • Develop and implement technology solution activation plans
  • Define the ecosystem and technology stack to support the go-forward L&D experience
  • Provide consultative support to L&D teams on experience design, adoption of enabling technologies, and measurement and analytics


Other Responsibilities

  • Own and manage key working relationships with L&D leaders and across other stakeholder groups
  • Manage and support cross-L&D teams to execute upon project objectives while aligning work and roles to ensure optimal performance

  • Lead, inspire, and coach team members, fostering individual and team growth through delegation, feedback, instruction, and encouragement—building on strengths and developing areas for improvement
  • Coach and mentor team members through established 1:1 check-ins and other development mechanisms
  • Complete and submit 360* professional development and performance review documentation
  • Cultivate an inclusive, high-performing team that maximizes team member contribution by creating an environment of mutual support and shared responsibility
  • Provide support and other administrative duties for direct reports
  • Utilize employee engagement tactics to encourage employees to become productive and high-performing and to enjoy their work




  • Bachelor’s Degree; Minimum 8 years of related experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multiple projects environment
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills to identify interdependencies between issues, data, and outcomes
  • Project management experience with multiple, concurrent, and complex work streams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships, manage stakeholders, and influence, collaborate, and build consensus
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and present data-driven insights and trends
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly present ideas and insights
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills

  • Ability to travel up to 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve



  • Prior learning and development or talent management experience
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range is $86,425 to $177,470.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
