Position Summary

Manager, Consulting Finance Business Partner – Operate

Work you’ll do

With the increased leadership focus and rapid growth expectations of the Operate business, Consulting has established Operate Offerings within the majority of OPs. In addition to these staffed views of performance, dedicated support is required to continue to provide cross-OP (engagement-based) views of Operate performance and to support Consulting, US Firm, and Global analysis asks and strategic projects.

About the Team

The Operate Finance Business Partner will have an important role in supporting Consulting Operate leadership, partnering with the Operate COE, and collaborating across the Consulting Finance team in support of the new Operate Offering leaders. Support will include a focus on both staffed and engagement (managed) views of financials and analyzing profitability drivers and trends.

Key Responsibilities include:

Leadership Support

  • Perform analysis for special projects requested by leadership based on Operate revenue and related metrics (e.g., engagement margin analysis to determine overall profitability of portfolio, engagement adherence to established leverage benchmarks, W4S analysis, etc.)
  • Provide meaningful, actionable insights, advice, and recommendations on historic and the future financial performance to the Business’ leadership and develop leadership level messages/presentations (e.g., BPR)
  • Serve as connection point between Consulting leaders, leadership support teams, and Finance to drive improved operational results and efficiency
  • Support initiatives to help the business in achieving its strategic objectives

Monitoring of Period Performance and Execution of Financial/Ops Routines

  • Support periodic Operate revenue reporting at both the Operate Offering and Cross-OP (engagement-based) views. Efforts will require gathering input from multiple parties, understanding data anomalies, compiling and reviewing finance revenue reports, presenting report outputs to Operate leadership.
  • Focus on transforming information into insights and actionable decisions
  • Collaborate with the Finance peers, Operate COE COS/support team, and others to prepare analyses related to sales, pipeline, revenue, profitability, operational performance and other KPIs
  • Understand firm systems and data to assess implications of operational changes on reporting
  • Lead efforts to continue to innovate and refine Operate reporting in partnership with other Offering Finance Business Partners to provide consistent and effective reporting in both staffed, engagement, and managed views to support decision making
  • Continuously improve Consulting Finance and BP&A’s organizational efficiency and effectiveness by leading internal change initiatives

Forecast, Planning, and Ad Hoc Support

  • Support forecasting and planning processes as needed so that key inputs are considered
  • Conduct other financial analysis and reporting as needed

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related subject
  • CPA or MBA preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant finance experience, preferably in a professional services firm and/or with a focus on Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in the following areas:
    • Financial Reporting and Analysis

    • Communication skills with all levels (from leadership to staff)
    • Working in virtual teams and coordinating across other groups and COEs

Technology or Other Requirements

  • Strong understanding of SAP, BPC, HANA, and other financial applications
  • Expert in Excel, advanced in PowerPoint and Word
  • Understanding of Tableau capabilities for data visualization
