The team

Monitor Institute by Deloitte (MIbD), a consulting team within Deloitte Client & Market Growth, works with social impact-focused businesses, philanthropies and nonprofits. Work you’ll do

  • Managers oversee the development and delivery of strategic and operational recommendations to extend our client’s impact
  • Managers oversee project team(s) in the development of analysis and, ultimately, the framing of final deliverables, as well as help develop and maintain client relationships
  • Managers lead and contribute to MIbD practice initiatives (e.g., Eminence, Learning, Adaptive Strategy, Philanthropy, Corporate Purpose)

Key responsibilities

  • Develop work plans for engagements, oversee coordination across workstreams, and identify when changes in scope are necessary; ensure on-time completion of key deliverables
  • Lead team in the development of strategic frameworks and recommendations by providing oversight on, while sometimes contributing to, the development of deliverables, including — but not limited to — data gathering from interviews, focus groups and secondary research; landscape analyses; strategic path development; and operating/financial modeling
  • Design and lead collaborative strategic working sessions and/or convenings with clients, leveraging MIbD intellectual properties and methodologies
  • Work side-by-side with senior project team leadership to improve project dynamics and strategy
  • Provide coaching and oversee the professional development of team members
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, managing day-to-day conversations about workplan, deliverables, stakeholder engagement, etc.
  • Support business development by contributing to proposals for client projects
  • Lead and/or contribute to internal team initiatives (e.g., methodology development, writing eminence, drafting case studies/quals from project work)

Skills/experience/qualifications required:

  • 5+ years of prior work experience including at least 2+ in client services
  • Must be legally authorized to working in the United States; limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Travel on average of 20% (While 20% travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)

Skills/experience/qualifications preferred:

  • Track record of high performance; consultative and strategic mindset; ability to navigate ambiguous circumstances and complex structures
  • Deep understanding of social sector issues, including but not limited to education, workforce development, and innovation
  • Desire to bring an active anti-racist perspective
  • Commitment to bring a DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) lens
  • Strong analytical, research, and project management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple workstreams and deliverables simultaneously
  • Ability to manage to deliverable due dates and workplan
  • Proven leadership and teaming skills
