Life & Annuity Specialist

Are you interested in driving technology solutions in the insurance industry across both Life and Annuities (L&A) as well as Group businesses? The Deloitte Project Manager / Scrum Master role is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful initiatives for our clients bringing to market the latest innovations in the industry. MUST HAVE LIFE AND ANNUITY AND/OR GROUP INSURANCE EXPERIENCE

Work you’ll do 

You’ll work with teams of business managers, engineers, analysts and designers to co-ordinate and manage end to end Life & Annuity and Group transformations for the client while leading global scrum teams. The capabilities may span from planning and management to engaging various business and technical teams to build project plans and review deliverables, manage team workload, manage project costs and escalate appropriate risks and issues. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead project discovery workshops, both on-site and remotely
  • Collaborate with business and functional partners and technology leadership in specifying requirements and create continuous feedback loops that allow us to better understand their problems
  • Drive technology discussion and strategy in line with business needs
  • Define execution plan and approach based on project scope, expected timeline and available budget/resources
  • Define project management processes and practices and ensure that they are followed. Drive simplification and improvement as necessary
  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies
  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project
  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting
  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations
  • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected and acted upon
  • Lead the scrum team in using Agile methodology and scrum practices
  • Scheduling and facilitating scrum ceremonies, meetings and decision-making processes

The team 

The US Core Industry Solutions Offering encompasses the insurance industry vertical and L&A and Group sector-specific solutions that leverage distinct technologies to drive operational change and automate the core our client’s business. The team incorporates expertise from across the firm to leverage common approaches, best practices and strategic investments to scale these solutions according to industry strategy. Deloitte’s L&A and Group offering will be known in the market for a focus on transforming industry operations through leading industry technology solutions. 



  • 4+ years of IT experience
  • 2+ years of relevant Project Management experience managing L&A and/or Group insurance sector projects
  • Must have Life and Annuity and/or Group insurance experience
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Detailed organizational skills and ability to manage large scale global teams
  • Proficient in tools such JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and clients and industries/sectors you serve


  • Agile / SAFe / Scrum Master / PMP Certification is a bonus
  • Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Experience with Life and Annuity Solutions such as Majesco, FAST or ALIP
  • Experience with packaged solution such as Vertagore/VUE, iGo or Unqork
