Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory – Legal Business Services – Senior Consultant

Work you’ll do

As a Senior Consultant in Legal Business Services, you will work with a team of experienced professionals supporting Deloitte’s suite of services driving transformation and modernization of corporate legal and compliance departments and/or corporate legal operations programs. You will contribute directly to delivering first class consultative services to our clients, and your support of the engagement lifecycle will include engagement leadership, sales, and pursuit support, thought leadership, legal management consulting including assessments and solution design across people, process and technology, service delivery, technology implementations, project management coaching and mentoring junior practitioners.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Provide in-depth consulting on engagements and pursuits
  • Participate in or lead the creation of thought leadership content
  • Plan for and participate in meetings with client stakeholders
  • Be part of pursuit teams to bid for new work
  • Help identify, design, and implement creative solutions to client challenges
  • Participate in setting engagement objectives
  • Develop project plans for workstreams or components of an engagement
  • Conduct detailed analyses to draw conclusions and develop insightful recommendations
  • Produce high-quality client deliverables and executive-level presentations
  • Participate in presentation of findings to senior client stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with client stakeholders
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior practitioners

The team

Deloitte Discovery’s Legal Business Services (LBS) teams provide a comprehensive suite of legal management consulting, information governance, contract lifecycle management, and technology-enabled services to our clients. Our professionals bring domain knowledge, industry experience, and technology capabilities to provide strategic, proactive approaches to support the future of legal departments and related functions.


  • 4+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years of demonstrated experience supporting legal or legal project management
  • History of successful project management including program design, identification of opportunities and developing implementation plans
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and bring new ideas and insight to our engagement teams
  • Experience leading client meetings and presentations
  • Strong sales focused communication skills including visual presentations
  • Hands on experience with leading technology across legal focus areas such as: Matter Management, eBilling, Service Delivery, Intellectual Property, Compliance, Regulatory and Contract Management
  • Experience with MS Office Suite,
  • Basic understanding of corporate business operations and functional business processes
  • Strong core consulting skills
  • Experience directly leading workstreams or small teams within the context of a larger project
  • Experience establishing and managing priorities and delegation of tasks
  • Ability to work independently on small teams, or on workstreams supporting larger projects
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Availability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available


  • Prior consulting or in-house Legal Operations experience
  • JD, MBA or master’s degree in Law, Leadership, Organizational Management, or Data Science
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, or other similar certification
