Work you’ll do
- Support the client in assessing the overall architectural strategy for a large legacy application conversion Java project.
- Offer guidance on the best path forward for the project, ensuring alignment with the Statement of Work (SOW) and technical constraints.
- Work with the larger vendor team to evaluate technical risks and conduct alternatives analysis over Deloitte’s technical work streams.
- Present project progress and the rationale behind decisions to the greater vendor team.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all technical decisions related to the project.
- Use a combination of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) tools and custom-developed solutions.
- Operate effectively within project constraints and drive forward progress by influencing the solution and applying appropriate techniques.
- Lead and provide guidance to the project consisting of Architects, Developers, Testers, Legacy coding teams, and requirement teams.

This can include the delivery of large-scale software applications & integrated systems, the development of service-oriented architecture (SOA) & other integrations solutions, and the delivery of technology enablement to support CIO services transformation. Our Application Modernization and Innovation offering focuses on key client issues that impact the core business. We provide operational value, modernized mission solutions, and enhanced technology innovation.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role.
- Ability to travel 10-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- 10 + years of Java programming experience.
- 5 + years of experience in solution architecture.
- 5 + years of experience in Java development using Eclipse/JBoss/Junit 5.
- 2 + Years of experience modeling in Vizio.
Preferred:
- Experience in technical sales and solutioning to assist in generating new work opportunities for the project.
- Prior experience with Assembly language or the ability to learn the foundations of legacy technologies (e.g., Mainframe, ALC).
- Experience working with Agile development methodology, including test-driven approaches, MVP development, and delivery of incremental value.
- Ability to think strategically and connect the dots across various project workstreams.
- Professional certifications preferred (e.g., Java, PMP, Scrum Master, TOGAF, Etc.).
