Work you’ll do

The Reporting and Analytics Lead will specialize in and provide expertise in data analytics, data science/engineering, and data management. They will help drive and advise tasks associated with re-imagining and migrating current data insight tools to the new environment and developing new reports, visualizations, and processes to ingest, manage, and automate the use of new data sources.

Additional duties:

  • Perform project tasks independently, and may direct the efforts of others
  • Participate in and/or lead the development of deliverable content that meets the needs of the client and contract
  • Anticipate client needs and formulate solutions to client issues
  • Review deliverables for accuracy and quality
  • Provides coaching to junior staff
  • Contribute to new business proposals and proposal development
  • Manages own personal and professional development; seeks opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experiences

The team

The GPS Business Systems group supports the GPS Practice's information technology systems by:

  • Developing and maintaining GPS’ business intelligence and process robotic solutions
  • Leverage automation, cognitive and science-based techniques to manage data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions
  • Drive operational efficiency by maintaining their data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise and providing As-a-Service offerings for continuous insights and improvements
  • Eliciting and managing requirements for changes to existing GPS Business Systems.
  • Acting as the voice of the business in ITS development “sprints”.
  • Facilitating approval of requirements with the Functional Leaders.
  • Facilitating the proper participation and socialization of change requests.
  • Acting as the Functional Project Lead for implementation projects.
  • Monitoring the business requirements from design and development through testing and deployment to ensure business expectations are met.
  • Heavily participating in functional testing.
  • Issue identification, explanation, and resolution.
  • Acting as the integration point between ITS and the business in order to provide the right person to make the right decision.
  • Working with the business to document changes to current business practices and assist in process re-engineering efforts.
  • Assisting in policy changes.
  • Assisting in change management activities.
  • Assisting in training documentation creation and training deployment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience with analytics strategy
  • 3+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python, R, SPSS, SAS
  • 3+ years of experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, DataiKu, or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience with ETL, NoSQL Apache Hadoop, and cloud computing technology, especially Microsoft Azure
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or business-related field
  • Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal and external customer needs related to the job
  • Familiarity with agile project methodology
  • Familiarity with project development lifecycle
  • Up to 10% travel may be required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Prior professional services or federal consulting experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with both technical and functional resources
  • Advanced Excel, VBA, and/or MicroStrategy experience
  • Experience with cognitive automation applications (ex. Kira, chat bots, Workfusion, IP Soft, MS Skype bot extenders)
