Position Summary

DevOps Engineers support the implementation of application lifecycle management tools and processes which enable rapid development and deployment of software. DevOps Engineers embrace continuous integration/deployment in delivery pipelines that perform automated quality checks, deploy cloud infrastructure and applications quickly, and provide operational metrics that can be consumed by development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with application architects and developers to design and implement cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance controls by leveraging existing templates, documentation and other reusable sources provided by Deloitte management
  • Configure build and release pipelines for cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platforms.
  • Build and deploy IaaS and PaaS cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platforms.
  • Build repeatable infrastructure through using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Cloud Formation and Terraform
  • Monitor and support the deployment of both cloud and on-prem applications via automation tools and practices defined by Deloitte
  • Respond to service requests in your team’s queue under guidance from Deloitte management
  • Participate in on call rotations that occur during normal hours within your time zone

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology
  • 3+ years working on the automation and deployment of cloud based technologies such as Azure, AWS, or Google cloud platforms
  • Build and deployment automation of applications using one or more platforms such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, UrbanCode, etc.
  • 3+ years of build and deployment automation (Continuous Integration/Delivery) experience using industry-standard platforms
  • Basic understanding and application of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts
  • Demonstrates a strong working understanding of troubleshooting techniques and strategies including an ability to use troubleshooting tools.
  • Demonstrates an ability to manage multiple project deliverables on multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to extract, translate and communicate meaningful information with management and peers

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT-related field or a minimum of 5+ years of relevant, IT experience.
  • Build and deployment automation of applications using one or more platforms such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, UrbanCode, etc.
  • Working experience on IIS admin (10.0 preferred)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using one or more of the following; Azure Resource Manager, Cloud Formation, Terraform
  • Configure build and release (CI/CD) pipelines primarily in Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and routing technologies (VPC, Security groups, NACL, Route53, Load Balancing and Availability zones)
  • Scripting experience, PowerShell is preferred
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • General knowledge of traditional network, firewalls and load balancers
  • Working experience on Windows Server (2016/2019 preferred)

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90,000 to $140,000.
