Description

M&A Services (MAS) is a Strategic Growth Offering (SGO) that spans all four of Deloitte’s functional businesses. The National M&A Services team supports the cross-functional MAS leadership team by leading and executing strategic projects and initiatives that support our strategy and growth ambition. We play a key role in providing connectivity and building engagement across our complex, multifaceted practice.

 

Our team seeks an experienced and energetic Analyst-level professional with outstanding communication, analytical and project management skills to join our team. Location is flexible, although Boston, Austin or Tri- State are preferred. Minimal travel required.

 

Work you’ll do:

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis in support of key initiatives; e.g., work closely with the finance team on data analysis, including financial, client, and market data to identify opportunities and trends
  • Provide support for MAS-wide tracking and coordination related to our market share and cross- functional mega-deal participation
  • Work closely with other members of the MAS national team to execute complex, high-visibility efforts such as our biennial PPMD Leadership Summit
  • Support communications, both within MAS and across Deloitte, to increase awareness of our client & firm impact
  • Assist in the development of materials for MAS leadership meetings
  • Work with MAS leadership team on special projects and presentations as needed

 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Strong analytical skills; ability to determine data needs and approaches to inform decision-making
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work on multiple projects and with multiple stakeholders at once, appropriately prioritizing and managing time
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; executive presence and ability to interact with professionals at all levels of our organization
  • High level of proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; an eye for telling the story and conveying information in a visually appealing way
  • A proactive work ethic (“self-starter”) that also embraces a collaborative (“team player”) approach
  • Flexibility, persistence, and creativity in finding solutions
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn
  • Outstanding attention to detail

 

Required capabilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with preference for a business-related (e.g., Finance, Economics) or a technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of prior relevant experience in client-facing or internal roles within professional services organization such as Deloitte.
  • Flexible work style with possible travel (approx. 10%). A US-based office location is required. While 10% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to Covid-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

 

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the M&A and Restructuring market and Deloitte’s M&A practice
  • Familiarity with external data and research sources such as Mergerstat, Thomson, Hoovers, etc.
  • Familiarity with excel macros and VBA
