Position Summary

Work you’ll do:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate professional for a DevOps Lead position with established experience with AWS cloud services and DevOps practices such as build/release management and general automation. This role will manage overall deliverables of project hosting, engaging DevOps professionals. This role will implement and support cloud solutions on AWS and processes leveraged by large number of applications hosted in our environment. Your skills are broad - implementing cloud and on-premise solutions for various application architectures, scripting, database and other data services – and you easily transition between those and handle multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive innovation through the ongoing evaluation, design and implementation of new technology
  • Work with software architects and developers to design and implement cloud solutions
  • Configure and deploy cloud services, leveraging an infrastructure as code (IaC) approach
  • Configure build and release (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Application monitoring and support activities
  • Respond to service requests in your team’s queue
  • Lead and mentor junior team members in regards to project delivery or other technical initiatives
  • Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance controls
  • Champion Agile best-practices, processes, and tools in support of DevOps processes
  • Participate and lead specialist practice community events
  • Participate in on call rotations that occur during normal hours within your time zone

Deloitte Application Studios (DAS)

Deloitte Application Studios (DAS) is the internal software and applications development team responsible for delivering leading-edge technologies to Deloitte professionals. Their broad portfolio includes web and mobile productivity tools which empower our people to log expenses, enter timesheets, book travel and more, anywhere, anytime. DAS enables our client service professionals through a comprehensive suite of applications across the business lines. In addition to application delivery, DAS offers full-scale design services, a robust mobile portfolio, cutting-edge analytics, and innovative custom development.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience of hands on experience with AWS services and build and deployment automation or 5 years of experience with advanced degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or related fields with a focus in CSE/IT, MCA
  • Must be experienced in Windows Server Administration, Cloud Computing awareness, AWS PaaS and IaaS configuration, PowerShell scripting, Azure DevOps configuration.
Preferred:
  • AWS associate-level certification
  • Working experience in Azure
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services including (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, EC2, S3, Lambda, and Elastic Beanstalk)
  • 3+ years of build and deployment automation (Continuous Integration/Delivery) experience using industry-standard platforms (VSTS, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity)
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with infrastructure as code automation (CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • 1+ years of experience with modern scripting languages, Python, PowerShell are preferred
  • In depth knowledge of high availability (HA) design and implementation across AWS services
  • Understanding of general database technologies and maintenance (RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Aurora)
  • Familiarity with AWS networking and routing technologies (VPC, Security groups, NACL, Route53, Load Balancing and Availability zones)
  • General understanding of AWS security practices (KMS, Secrets Manager, encryption, Iam Roles)
  • Enterprise-level job experience, focusing on high volume, scalability and reusability when architecting automated solutions
  • General knowledge of traditional network, firewalls and load balancers
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to extract, translate and communicate meaningful information with management and peers
  • Strong technical documentation skills; workflows and support documentation

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $86,425 to $177,470.
