Work you’ll do
- Work on international energy projects with our government and public sector clients
- Provide best practice insights on energy sector priorities and trends, leading approaches to solving energy challenges, and insights from experience working with industry on matters related to decarbonization, critical minerals, hydrocarbon management, power sector reform, renewable energy, and the energy technology supply chain.
- Advise Deloitte teams on your specific Hydrocarbon Sector area of expertise and work with these core teams to provide that advisory directly to clients
- Work independently and manage multiple task assignments

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, or related discipline
- 15 years of professional experience working on energy sector issues within the energy and oil and natural gas sectors, with demonstrated experience working with public and private entities on matters related oil & gas extraction, production, processing, refining, and trade
- Experience managing and providing technical expertise to multi-disciplinary teams in domestic and international capacities and working across different geographies
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for this role
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- 5+ years in consulting or a professional services environment
- Experience advising and working with government entities, international organizations, and/or multilateral donors on technical areas
- Experience and familiarity with recent decarbonization and low-emissions market trends and technologies and the impact of climate policy on the sector
- Experience working in international (non-US) jurisdictions with national governments and mining ministries
- Experience prioritizing tasks and managing assignments in a collaborative, geographically dispersed team environment
- Advanced organizational, technical, leadership, written and oral communication skills and attention to detail
- Oral and written communication and documentation skills, including presentation skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.)
- Technical writing skills, including the ability to draft and develop technical subject matter reports for high level audiences
Specific experience in one or more of the following Hyrdrocarbon topics:
- Experience with natural gas extraction, processing applications, delivery methods, and international markets for natural gas trading
- Familiarity with cutting-edge emissions abatement technology and experience advising on implementation strategies for emissions abatement technology
- Project development and engineering experience with hydrogen technologies, commercialization, and financial implications
- Expertise in understanding how energy transition technologies work and how they complement and compete with one another
