What you’ll do

As a Tax Senior, you will work within an engagement team and draw on experience in accounting and taxation to help lead the delivery of international tax compliance services to multinational clients across a wide array of industries. You’ll work closely with engagement teams across the country to identify and resolve complex tax issues that impact international tax compliance, prepare detailed international tax calculations and provide tax reporting analyses with respect to acquisitions, dispositions and organizational restructuring transactions. As a Tax Senior, you’ll also work to identify and develop high-impact process changes together with opportunities to implement innovative technologies.

This position involves combining both tax technical and technology skills to bring new and innovative processes and solutions to our clients in order to help them manage their U.S. international tax compliance processes. 

The team

At Deloitte Tax LLP, our International Tax Compliance and Reporting Services (iCRS) team helps multinational clients address their U.S. international tax compliance and reporting requirements. We offer a full-range of tax services and work collaboratively with many teams across the International Tax service line as well as Federal and Multistate service lines to help clients meet the challenges attendant with a rapidly evolving and increasingly complex U.S. international tax compliance landscape. Our team members are highly-knowledgeable and have diverse backgrounds in transactional analysis and support, tax compliance process and technology, planning for inbound and outbound businesses, and more. Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3+ years’ experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work, preferably with a focus on international taxation 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field 
  • Preferred technology skills include the following: Advanced Excel, VBA, Alteryx, and/or Power BI/Tableau
  • Experience with Corptax and/or Thomson Onesource
  • Experience performing tax reform calculations (i.e., GILTI, FDII, 163(j), FTC, BEAT)
  • Experience in U.S. tax return compliance requirements including international tax return reporting such as Form 5471, Form 8858, and Form 1118
  • Experience with foreign tax credit planning including gathering income sourcing data and performing computations of FTC limitation
  • Understanding of international tax compliance process and other areas affecting international tax such as, data requirements and data wrangling, attribute studies such as earnings and profits, outside tax basis analyses, transfer pricing, debt capacity analyses, and other international forms, calculations, and other related advisory services.
  • Some experience in global restructuring, corporate repatriation, and M&A transactions preferred
  • Travel up to 50% (While 50% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or must be able/willing to obtain:
    • Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office
    • Licensed attorney
    • Enrolled Agent
