Position Summary We’re looking for curious, motivated, and team-oriented individuals to join our growing Government & Public Services (GPS) PR & Strategic Communications team, with a particular focus on digital media. As a member of this team, you’ll play a critical role in helping GPS leaders shape how they engage with the clients and media. You’ll have a wide variety of responsibilities, ranging from identifying strategies to reach niche audiences online to configuring approval workflows in a social media management tool. You’ll employ your strong project management skills to manage, track and coordinate key initiatives and projects.

What you’ll do:

Media Analysis and Reporting

  • Develop processes and tools to gather, report and present GPS PR/Strategic Communications performance metrics, including weekly dashboards and reports to effectively display and highlight KPIs, media activity and status of key projects. Conduct general quantitative and qualitative research to produce media evaluation reports.
  • Prepare written and oral presentations for GPS leaders on key findings from media analysis.
  • Monitor, aggregate and present daily risk sensing reporting to flag and escalate potential risks, trends, disruptors, and threats, especially on high priority projects and accounts.
  • Facilitate lessons learned sessions during and after proactive PR and crisis communications events to identify recommendations for improvement.

Project Management and Process Improvement

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor master project plan/schedule for GPS PR/Strategic Communications initiatives, programs and projects to ensure timely delivery, quality and compliance with the project's scope. Prepare project and program communications for key stakeholders.
  • Provide weekly status reporting on active projects to indicate progress, achievements and any risks or issues that require escalation. Schedule and facilitate stakeholder meetings to communicate project status, discuss escalated issues and ensure project is meeting objectives and requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to develop and improve processes, tools and technology to support the execution of GPS PR/Strategic Communications strategies and objectives, including the development of standard templates and processes which provide structure and governance for a new team. 

Stakeholder Management and Coordination

  • Collaborate with the GPS Marketing team, Center for Government Insights, and other PR leads across Deloitte’s businesses to ensure message alignment and coordination.
  • Prepare GPS leaders to represent the organization through external channels, including facilitating and coordinating media training for spokespeople, staffing media interviews and preparing internal briefing materials and talking points.
  • Connect frequently with marketing, account leaders, client project teams and other stakeholders to stay abreast of new solutions, client successes and other notable milestones for potential public relations efforts.

The team:

Deloitte’s GPS PR/Strategic Communications team provides value to the Deloitte GPS team by developing and driving public relations programs that support GPS positioning with current and prospective clients. We collaborate closely with the GPS Marketing Team to develop and execute consistent messaging and campaigns that build Deloitte’s brand in the marketplace.

  • Strong listening and persuasive communication skills; able to gain consensus through influence and pivot when warranted
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 3-5+ years of media analysis and project management experience; consulting experience and/or federal government industry experience preferred
  • Superior writing and analytic skills; ability to review data and input from multiple sources and draw conclusions
  • Familiarity with social media monitoring and management tools, such as Sprinklr, Salesforce Social Studio, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.
  • Familiarity with social media channels - Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, etc.
  • Social media strategy and management
  • Experience with presentation and data analysis/ analytics software, including MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, Excel, or others to develop dashboards.
  • Proficient in using MS Word, Visio and PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
  • Creative thinker, someone who thinks outside of the box, and has the ability to implement innovative communication platforms and tools, including leading-edge public relations strategies.
  • Be a leader, team player, and proactive professional who works and thinks strategically, while guiding the team at the tactical level to deliver high-value communications results.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Detail oriented to create new processes or improve existing processes
  • Ability to support multiple concurrent project responsibilities.
  • Experience of social media strategies and tools
  • Experience managing complex governance and stakeholder environment, such as across multiple agencies/departments and/or large corporation with multiple divisions
  • Travel up to 10% (while travel of up to 10% is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
