We are looking for a dynamic, energetic leader Senior Manager to lead the GPS Engagement Financial Advisor (EFA) – Civil Gov’t practice.

Deloitte's Government and Public Services (GPS) Engagement Financial Advisor (EFA) practice is comprised of finance professionals specializing in project and account financial management. serving as a focal point for aspects of engagement, program, and account financial management control. EFA provides financial management knowledge for the entire engagement management team(s) by owning all financial reporting and analysis for engagements and accounts. Their greatest value, however, is in the understanding and application of engagement business and financial processes both to individual projects and to client accounts.

GPS EFA specializes in serving Deloitte’s federal, state and local government clients and higher education clients. The Government and Public Services practice is built around integrated core capabilities - people, process and technology and Government & Public Services industry expertise - the capabilities needed to help clients to tackle their most complex challenges.

Work You Will Do

The GPS EFA Sector Leader serves as the business partner for the Sector Leader and Account Leaders.  GPS EFA Sector Leaders are also responsible for leading the Sector EFA operations, including financial and talent operations.  They are responsible for supporting their Sector & Accounts - through successful management of the financial analysis and reconciliation processes and the implementation of engagement financial management controls. They oversee the activities of GPS EFA staff, including accountability for the quality and timeliness of all deliverables.  The GPS EFA Sector Leaders are responsible for the following activities:

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with Sector and Account Leaders to drive key financial decisions by creating business insights.
  • The EFA Sector Leader serves as the lead for all aspects of Sector-level program and account financial management.
  • Advising Sector Leaders on various areas including margin/profitability improvement initiatives, and risks and opportunities analysis related to achieving the annual financial plan and ongoing financial forecasts.
  • Identifying, escalating, and monitoring financial risks related to revenue, collections, contractual requirements, and brand positioning.
  • Supporting business stakeholders with ongoing finance transformation learning and activities.
  • Providing oversight, coaching and feedback to EFA Senior Managers on Sector financial analyses, profitability improvement initiatives, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and procedures, including leading decision making with other Enabling Area Leaders to ensure all aspects of Financial Compliance (e.g. Contracts, Subcontracts, Billing, Talent, Cost Accounting) are considered.
  • Fielding questions and participating in decisions regarding standards, policies, and procedures for financial operations.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding and helping teams apply Federal Government contract requirements to Sector programs and accounts.
  • Monitoring quality processes
  • Empowering talent to bring agile, innovative, and entrepreneurial mindset that will enable them to embrace continuous improvement and transformation.
  • Driving culture and employee engagement across all geographies including employees based in India
  • Helping to ensure consistency across management teams regarding Talent and Operations.
  • Supporting the growth and career development EFA resources through creating career development opportunities, training, formal and informal mentorship, and actionable feedback.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years’ experience of relevant Financial and management experience
  • Extensive understanding of financial management strategies, experience driving project level profitability improvement
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Ability to travel 10-25%, as needed

Preferred:

  • Experience in working and collaborating with international and remote teams
  • Experience in a federal/state/public professional services environment; consulting experience is a plus
