The Team
The Energy, Climate, and Natural Resources team in Deloitte’s Government and Public Services (GPS) practice helps clients implement transformative programming and public services that advance clean, secure, and sustainable growth. Our work is both domestic and international, supporting clients in the U.S. and projects abroad in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. We advise clients on solutions for decarbonization, climate change mitigation, and infrastructure resilience. Examples of our work include supporting countries to mobilize climate finance to achieve Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), creating green budget taxonomies, and developing investable climate projects.
Work you’ll do
Our team is looking for an experienced professional to serve as a Subject Matter Specialist on projects focused on energy resilience as well as vehicle fleet electrification and modernization. They should have experience developing and implementing zero emission vehicle (ZEV) strategies, identifying resilience measures at the intersection of transportation and energy management, and capturing optimizations through the implementation of advanced vehicle technologies. They should also be well-versed in the power and utilities industry including renewable and alternative energy. The practitioner will provide leadership and collaborate with large teams of diverse skill sets including technical, analytical, and project management and working across multiple client stakeholders while managing project financials, staffing, performance management, compliance, and risk management.
Eligible candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10+ years of experience. They should also be familiar with government acquisition and contracting processes. Experience working with defense sector clients is highly desired. They should have excellent communication skills to brief government leaders and the ability to develop strong working relationships with numerous client stakeholders. They should have demonstrated leadership skills including directing and managing diverse teams. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- International development, urban planning/architecture/engineering, public policy, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience working in climate resilience and adaptation.
- Experience working with public and private sector stakeholders in emerging markets on climate change adaptation and resilience topics.
- Experience developing and implementing zero emission vehicle (ZEV) strategies .Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer. sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Ability to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree from an accredited university.
- Experience mentoring and coaching junior staff.
- Experience managing senior-level client relationships, presenting and selling ideas to clients and other decision makers.
- Experience with business development and proposal writing.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $167,000-$278,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
