Work you’ll do/Responsibilities  

Responsible for leading a high performing Patient Access team of 30+ onshore and India-based team members in delivering pre-service financial clearance activities. Runs day-to-day operations, manages quality and adherence to KPI / service levels and identifies/implements process improvements and automation to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency /accuracy. 

  • Responsible for oversight and management of financial clearance center operations
  • Analyzes, plans and implements organizational systems and processes, and makes recommendations for improvements in patient access
  • Leads activities related to operational analysis, financial analysis and process improvement initiatives
  • Maintains knowledge base of outpatient financial clearance requirements and procedures
  • Manages staff and employee performance
  • Serves as line of escalation for high priority, complex accounts to be worked
  • Collaborates closely with organization managers and directors to ensure continuous open communication about clinical operations that impact access operations
  • Works with client team to develop and implement action plan to address trends as appropriate
  • Keeps current on insurance regulations, managed care contracts billing regulations, coding and fee schedules
  • Proactively manages access scorecards including user quality, productivity and team performance compared to Key Performance indicators and Service Level Agreements
  • Leverages interpersonal skills to interact with callers, including perceptive listening skills, to identify the concern and take appropriate action in high emotion situations

  • Managed Services: Operate services that provide ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and optimization for IT/Engineering applications & products

Qualifications

Required

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 3-years of experience as a patient access Manager or Senior or a related role is required

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments, is adaptable and flexible to everyday tasks
  • Can navigate through multiple screens to provide the essential information needed to complete an encounter
  • Must be able to document each patient communication, be able to document while on omnichannel platform (call/text/email/chat)
  • Computer literacy, ability to navigate through screens
  • Familiarity with complex or multi-line phone systems
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Experience leading team of 10+ staff to exceed productivity, quality and service targets
  • Utilizes critical thinking to solve problems
  • Comfortable communicating with leadership at the Director level
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred

  • Minimum of 1 year of financial clearance experience, including processing benefit verifications and prior authorizations is preferred
