Work you'll do

 
As a Senior Consultant within our practice, you will:


  • Assist with finance process documentation, assessment, and automation  
  • Work with clients to identify financial control issues and gap
  • Design and implement technical solutions to improve financial management activities
  • Advise our clients on technical accounting and internal controls matters
  • Assist with accounting and financial reporting operations
  • Participate in and/or lead the development of deliverable content that meets the needs of the client and contract
  • Review deliverables for accuracy and quality
  • Provides coaching to junior staff
  • Contribute to new business proposals and proposal development
  • Manage own personal and professional development; seeks opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experience

Our team provides resources to help clients manage their core accounting and financial reporting functions, as well as solutions to help them achieve their controls and finance transformation aspirations.  Our professionals keep up with emerging regulatory guidance along with industry and business trends to assist financial organizations.  We develop solutions to data complexities to help our clients achieve optimal finance transformation and meet their digital controllership goals and objectives. 

Qualifications


Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or other Business-related field
  • 5+ years of Consulting experience in any of the following areas: business process improvement, financial management policies and procedures, financial system integrations, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience performing financial statement audits and/or auditability assessments
  • 5+ years of experience in reviewing, analyzing, validating, and reconciling financial/accounting information
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and/or OMB Circular A-123 documentation testing and reporting requirements
  • Experience as a team lead responsible for mentoring and coaching
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision and guidance
  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel to create client deliverables
  • 2+ years of experience training, leading new team members 
  • Ability to travel 50%-80%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and the industries/sectors you serve
  • Proven track record of consistently attaining managed revenue targets as well as achieving quarterly or yearly sales objectives for new business




Preferred:

  • Familiarity with U.S. government financial accounting systems
  • Certifications including CPA, CDFM, CGFM, CFA

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84K to $128K.


You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
