- Serve as the functional point of contact for day-to-day budget / financial issues
- Prepare budget formulation materials and spend plans
- Integrate data across multiple systems / organizations and analyze financial performance and prepare managerial reports
- Prepare financial and managerial reports that provide robust explanations of trends / variances and brief executives on results and/or recommendations
- Provide advice, assistance, and guidance on budgetary matters; conduct periodic special studies and budget deep dives
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies in work process and develop innovative approaches to completing scope of work
- Participate in team problem solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues
- Conduct relevant research, data analysis, and create reports
- Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products
- Assist in proposal development, as requested
- Actively expand consulting skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients
- Anticipate client needs and formulate solutions to client issues
- Review deliverables for accuracy and quality
- Provides coaching to junior staff
- Contributes to new business proposals and proposal development
- Manages own personal and professional development; seeks opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or other business-related field
- 3+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience in financial analysis, budget, activity based costing
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required Security Clearance for this role
- Ability to travel 5-25%, on average, based on the work you do, and the clients and industries /sectors you serve
- Prior professional services or federal consulting experience
- CDFM or CGFM certification
- Proven experience operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
- Proven experience developing business process documentation and identifying and implementing process improvements
- Financial analysis and management reporting experience
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, macros, VBA, lookups)
- Budget process and systems experience
- Cost accounting/cost allocation experience
- Working Capital Fund (WCF) experience
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgment
- Experience working independently with minimal guidance
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools
