As an Architect in our Hybrid-Operate group, you’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading professionals across diverse industries. 

Work you’ll do

As a key member of the Risk and Financial Advisory architecture council and steering committee, you will be responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on architecture proposals and proposing future architectural approaches to keep our solutions and products scalable and cutting edge.  The architect role requires a wealth of both process and technical knowledge about security, storage, data management and network service delivery.

Day to day job responsibilities may include: 
  • Collaborate with a variety of product and business owners to help understand business requirements and provide guidance on solution architecture/approaches.
  • Define reference architectures and help build guidance around those architectures’ best practices and usage recommendations
  • Serve as a hands-on architect/developer who not only takes on development of complex artifacts, but is also responsible to train and mentor other architects/developers ensuring that best coding practices and approaches are being followed
  • Provide oversight on the various development efforts to ensure that prescribed solution architecture is being followed
  • Collaborate with other teams/architects in the organization to share best practices across different areas of the business 
  • Manage all the development activities hand in hand with the project manager
  • Gather feedback and lessons learned from implementation efforts and use that feedback to improve the processes for future projects
  • Be a thought leader to others, especially other aspiring architects
  • Provides input to technology investments at many different levels in the organization
  • The desired candidate is an organized, self-driven individual with a proven ability to achieve development objectives. They will have the ability to work be successful while working independently or as part of a team and will be able to adapt quickly to shifts in priorities and/objectives. Lastly, they will be passionate about learning and applying their technical skills and experiences to solve real-world problems, and possess strong listening, verbal, & written communication skills.

The architecture council is growing team of architects and developers focused on evolving how we architect, develop, and deliver our next-generation technology solutions. Our goals are to introduce more consistency and cross-teaming into our processes, allowing us to expedite solution development and reduce cost.

Qualifications

Required
  • 10+ years developing and architecting enterprise class solutions
  • Excellent understanding of different architectural patterns and best practices
  • Skilled in developing cloud-based solutions like using Microservices architecture, Kubernetes, etc., in addition to traditional n-tier solutions.
  • Experience or passion for implementing cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong hands-on skills developing software using OOP concepts and designs
  • Should be very analytical and detail oriented, self-sufficient and a team player
  • Well versed and hands on experience in all tiers of application development – front-end, middle-tier and backend
  • Deep understanding of modern front-end technologies like Angular and React; must be able to decide on which technology stack suits the needs of the solution
  • Excellent skills using Git for source control
  • Experience of DevOps practices and tools
  • Deep experience developing solutions primarily on Microsoft .NET or Java tech stack
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred
  • Experience developing solutions based on leading open platforms like Apache Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience building architecture guidance and documentation
  • Experience developing cloud-native solution on Azure and AWS using their respective platform services
  • Experience working with multiple technology stacks like .NET, Java and Python would be a plus
