Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Engineer 2, DC Platforms, Organic Platforms in Seattle, Washington and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally. 

Work You’ll Do 

Evaluate technology needs, develop software applications, and draft technical and functional design documentation. Perform assessments of existing information systems and identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities, estimate time and resources needed for the development work. Design sub-components, seamlessly integrate the sub-components into the larger application system, and continuously optimize the system to improve stability and performance. Develop components of larger application systems as per the technical and functional design specifications. Investigate user-reported bugs/issues with software applications, identify root causes and resolutions, and implement fixes. Create technical and functional specifications, including screen layouts, navigation flows and pseudocode, to be used for application development.

  • 25% travel required nationally.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any)or a related field. Must have one (1) year of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Candidate must also have one (1) year of related work experience involving each of the following: 

  • Working in Agile and Scrum environments on assigned tasks, coordinating with business analysts and solution architects to clarify business requirements and providing effort estimations for work products;
  • Building user interfaces of web applications using JavaServer Pages (JSP);
  • Utilizing MVC (Model-View-Controller) architecture for designing flexible and maintainable web applications;
  • Building dynamic and interactive web applications using Struts and JavaScript with a backend of Java and PL/SQL (Procedural Language for SQL);
  • Utilizing JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) and Rest API (RESTful Application Programming Interface) for communicating with web services for exchange of data;
  • Utilizing Git for version control of the application code to push code to the development code repository by creating code branches and resolving code merge conflicts;
  • Performing unit testing of the software application code using TestNG, JUnit and Selenium; and
  • Investigating and resolving user reported issues found in the software application.
  • 25% travel required nationally.
