Deloitte LLP is searching for an attorney to support its contracting and compliance-related activities pertaining to the IT systems, software, and infrastructure used to enable its businesses.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for the insourcing and subsequent use of software, hardware, and systems to be combined with other licensed items to enable the delivery of internal and commercial services.
- Advise and recommend policy and procedural solutions to the Offices of the CIO, CISO, and Privacy on legal issues related to the compliant insourcing, deployment, and lifecycle management of software, hardware, and systems used in the delivery of internal and commercial services.
- Research, summarize, and disseminate subject matter information focusing on legal issues affecting the compliant use of software, hardware, and systems in the delivery of internal and commercial services.
- Proactively maintain an understanding of current and developing legal and policy issues impacting software, hardware, and systems used in the delivery of internal and commercial services.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years as a practicing attorney with a law firm, in-house or governmental organization supporting technology contracting and compliance.
- Working knowledge of technology-integration licensing considerations in tech stack contracting.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating multitiered (tech stack) SaaS, colocation, OEM, open-source, and other custom licensing agreements with diverse, large, and complex vendor organizations.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and international infosec laws, rules, regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating infosec, network access, disaster recovery and other related agreements.
- Working knowledge of system lifecycle phases and supporting contractual instruments.
- Experience in negotiating support agreements (e.g., maintenance support, SLAs, business continuity) for dependency technologies in consideration of the performance expectations of the systems they constitute.
- Understanding of legal and risk issues in emerging technologies such as cloud computing, cognitive computing, machine learning, robotic process automation, blockchain, and/or digital mobility.
- Law degree.
- Active member of a U.S. State bar.

- 1+ privacy/security certifications (e.g., CIPP/CIPT, CISSP, CISM, CCSP or CompTIA Security+) preferred.
- Degree in CS, Information Systems, or a related field and/or pre-legal experience in technology field preferred.
- Fluency in US (e.g., NIST 800-53/71) and international (e.g., ISO 27000 series) security standards a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Would consider candidates located anywhere in the U.S.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $188,365 to $418,455.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
