Work you’ll do 

  • As a Deloitte Database Administrator, you will administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the availability, performance, and integrity of the company database.
  • Perform database housekeeping, such as tuning, indexing, etc.
  • Assist data modeling to design and implement data structures which meet the business requirement for timely, accurate data
  • Promote data quality and enforce data integrity
  • Administer database availability and performance, including incident and problem management
  • Resolve database performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues
  • Determine user requirements, set up and test computer databases, and coordinate changes
  • Interact with development and end-user personnel to determine application data access requirements, transaction rates, volume analysis, and other pertinent data required to develop and maintain integrated databases.

Qualifications 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or other technical field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future 
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required 
  • 3+ years experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft DBA
  • Understanding of and adherence to Oracle's Best-Practices for DBA and security
  • 3+ years experience with systems administration, UNIX/Linux/Windows shell or Windows PowerShell scripting
  • 3+ years experience with development tools and languages (PL/SQL, Java, Python, etc.)
  • Conceptual understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery
  • Knowledge of administration or conceptual understanding of Oracle Database technologies:
    • Data Guard
    • Automated Storage Management
    • Flashback
    • Recovery Manager
    • Transparent Application Failover
    • Oracle Connection Manager
    • Patching and maintenance
    • Oracle Cloud Control (OEM)
  • Security+ is required within six months of joining the team
  • Ability to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred: 

  • Experience working within the IC
  • 3+ years experience with PeopleSoft
  • Ability to solve complex problems, improve business operations, and manage the complexity inherent with technology change
