Data Strategist – Consultant Level

Work you’ll do
As a Data Strategist in our Strategy and Analytics organization, you will:
  • Design and launch a data strategy with clear strategic direction and the infrastructure to support and manage the program.
  • Participates in planning, needs analysis and risk assessment; consults with the customer on how to best support their data use through the effective use of technology
  • Develops the strategy for the organization’s data architecture strategy including the database design and structure, data integrity and database tools
  • Support the stand up or advancement of key data efforts, including Data Governance, Master Data Management (MDM), and Data Quality Programs

The GPS Strategy offering leads strategic planning & portfolio management and reporting & monitoring workstreams. This includes day-to-day client interaction and leads to the creation of relevant resources and materials (such as strategic plans, roadmaps, etc.) and work products (such as development of performance metrics, tracking dashboards, etc.) in order to successfully implement client vision.

Required Skills:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
  • 2+ years of experience identifying areas where data can be used to improve business activities and making recommendations for standardization and proper data usage based off data analysis
  • 2+ years of experience developing approaches and frameworks for broad data strategy initiatives, including data governance, master data management, data quality, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience establishing key initiatives for a data strategy (ex: data governance model, data quality program, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience scaling data management and analytics capabilities within an organization
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or business-related field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to identify relationships between various datasets to enable stronger reporting capabilities
  • Experience with Strategic Planning, Change Management, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in data modeling and architecture development
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose, write and edit a variety of general business correspondence, management reports, technical presentations, and position papers
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities with key focus on delivery and client orientation
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
