Position Summary

Data Science Lead

The Assets & Hybrid Business Ventures (AHBV) offering was established to surface, build, incubate, scale, and maintain new, world-class technology-based assets focused on improving the customer experience. Among our highest-priority assets is TrueServe™, a contact center solution that integrates industry-leading capabilities through cutting-edge technology to transform our clients’ abilities in customer support and service.

Included in TrueServe™ is an “all-in-one” voice analytics solution that uses voice and text recordings to extract information through advanced analytics techniques, with models developed and managed by our specialized voice data scientist team to provide actionable business outcomes. This is just one example of the assets that our team is bringing to market to help us provide even faster time to value and reduced risk throughout our clients’ transformation journeys.

Work you’ll do:

The Senior Data Scientist & Development Lead for our voice analytics solution in our Assets and Hybrid Business Ventures team will be responsible for delivering projects for our clients while advancing the internal capabilities of the solution. The technology landscape moves fast, so you will not be expected to be expert in each of the tools we currently use, but we are assuming a willingness to work outside your comfort zone to learn on the job. As a Data Scientist, you will apply machine learning, data visualization and statistical programming tools to interpret data. You will bring a strong background in developing and writing code to the team but will also have experience interacting with non-technical clients and stakeholders to deliver results.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing large-scale data ecosystems including data management and integration of multiple complex systems to provide a seamless experience.
  • Leveraging automation, cognitive, and science-based techniques to manage data.
  • Developing data science and statistical methodologies to integrate them into product development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Math, Comp Sci, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience and familiarity in scripting languages (Python, R, Matlab)
  • 4+ years of data science experience in a commercial or academic environment.
  • Proven track record of working with cloud technologies such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), GCP (Google Cloud Platform), Azure.
  • Experience applying machine learning algorithms and an understanding of which approaches are relevant in different scenarios:
    • Supervised learning
    • Unsupervised learning
    • Natural language processing
    • Graph algorithms
    • Time series
  • Strong delivery skills, and experience of managing multiple projects in a high paced environment.
  • Strong planning, organization / people management skills.
  • Self-driven with initiative for learning and implementing innovative technologies
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and writing skills.
  • A history of working collaboratively with a cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists and product managers
  • Visualization tools (Tableau, Qlikview)
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (Agile, DevOps)
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Jenkins)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate degree in Math, Comp Sci, AI, Robotics, Data Science or equivalent/relevant field
  • Database experience (SQL)
  • Experience in command line (e.g. Bash)
  • Understanding/experience with Data Privacy considerations
  • Experience in signal processing/ML applied to audio/speech
  • Knowledge about statistical modeling
  • Client relationship management
