Work you’ll do/Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, database architecture, and performance expectations.
- Develop a comprehensive migration strategy, including data migration, schema conversion, application testing, and performance tuning.
- Design the AWS architecture for the target database environment, considering factors such as security, scalability, and high availability.
- Plan and execute data migration using tools like AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) or other appropriate methods.
- Able to perform RAC to RAC and RAC to Non-RAC migrations and familiar with backup, refresh/clone and recovery strategies
- Capable enough to perform the DR setup and troubleshooting the standby/DR issues
- Good knowledge on networking capabilities of oracle components
- Coordinate with application teams to validate that migrated data and applications function as expected in the AWS environment.
- Perform thorough testing to identify and address any post-migration issues or performance bottlenecks.
- Analyze database performance in the AWS environment and optimize database configurations, indexes, and queries for optimal performance.
- Create detailed documentation of the migration process, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams on AWS best practices and database management.
- Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues in the AWS-hosted Oracle databases.
- Provide ongoing support to ensure the stability, security, and performance of migrated databases.

Job Description
- 10+ years of proven experience in Oracle database administration and migration.
- Familiar with disaster recovery strategies and backup/recovery methods.
- Good understanding of AWS services and cloud architecture.
- Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning.
- Familiarity with database migration tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
- Must be in your designated office location 10%-30% of each work week.
- Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on business need.
