Work you’ll do
Candidate will apply statistical models and techniques (e.g., descriptive statistics, multivariate analysis, regression) to a wide variety of missions in the national security space today. Candidate will join a team of high-performing data scientists delivering cutting-edge analytics against high-visibility national security missions. Candidate will conduct exploratory data analysis to understand patterns and potential insights exhibited in the data.

The GPS Analytics and Cognitive (A&C) offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Must be able to maintain the required clearance for this role
- Candidate should have experience in data wrangling, cleaning, manipulation, and analysis in one or more programming language (e.g., R, Python). This role will work on all aspects of the data analytics project lifecycle in collaboration with other engineers, scientists, and developers
- The candidate must have demonstrated experience and comfort in presenting, analyzing, updating, and viewing complex data and explaining insights with technical and non-technical users
- Candidate should have experience translating business requirements to a problem that can be solved using statistical and/or machine learning techniques and a fundamental understanding of statistical models
- Responsibilities include writing SQL queries to extract data from data warehouses and aggregating disparate information, designing and implementing data analysis methodologies, and using BI tools to create dynamic data visualizations and dashboards.
