Our Crisis & Grants Management team delivers innovative and sustainable end-to-end crisis and grants management services through incident action planning, maximizing grant funding, grant risk assessments, improving grant processes and operations, future and contingency planning, and data analytics. The grant management team serves the entire grant lifecycle, from identifying potential funding sources and preparing grant applications, to monitoring and reporting on the use of grant funds. Together we create more resilient communities and responsive ecosystems by enabling organizations and communities better prepare for, prevent, respond to, recover from and mitigate risks caused by a crisis event, as well as obtaining and maintaining compliance over grant funding for certain key initiatives not related to a crisis such as housing.
Work you’ll do:
· Write grant applications for disaster and non-disaster related federal grants, including but not limited to FEMA Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation 404 and 406, CDBG, IIJA, APRA and other housing grants etc.
· Develop compelling proposals for grant funding application which aligns with the Federal and programmatic requirements.
· Manage the grant management and compliance process which includes submission of timely reports, tracking of costs and indexing/archiving required backup documentation after confirming their completeness and accuracy
· Liaison with Federal grant agencies and relevant stakeholders to coordinate grant activities and escalate to resolve issues om a timely manner
· Conduct research and analysis to identify potential grant opportunities and make recommendations to clients
· Develop and implement grant management policies and procedures that are compliant with regulatory/programmatic requirements of the grant
· Review supporting documentation for grants to ensure that each sub recipient receives appropriate reimbursement for approved, federally funded programs
· Implement and oversee sub-recipient monitoring, collect findings, and provide compliance corrective actions
· Identify any missing documentation and coordinate with counterparts to resolve issues
· Oversee the development of multiple grants, from a variety of incidents with different policy requirements
· Develop and validate Damage Description and Dimensions (DDD), Scope of Work (SOW), and costs for completed work based upon backup documentation
· Prepare reports for grantor agencies regarding operational and financial progress of grant-funded projects
· Develop Scopes of Work (SOW) and cost estimates related to repair and/or replacement grants. Search for comparable to validate cost estimates
· Conduct site inspections as needed to develop a Damage Description and Dimensions (DDD). Develop a Scope of Work (SOW) and cost estimated related to complex repair and/or replacement grants
· Use data to understand and monitor grant and grantee performance and risks throughout the grant lifecycle
· Participate in industry eminence activities and conferences to stay current with the latest developments in grant management and participate in the grant management business development activities such as proposals.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Engineering, Emergency Management, Crisis Management, Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, Mathematics, Geography, Geospatial Intelligence or related field
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
· Must be able to obtain and maintain required clearance for this role
· 2+ years of grants management experience at the state and/or federal level
o Possess knowledge on the technical aspects of the federal grant program and will be expected to exercise independent judgement within the limits of applicable Federal and State statutes, regulations, policies and procedures
o Experience with Government Accounting, Grant Monitoring, and Procedure Development
o Experience advising federal, state, or local government stakeholders on strategies to prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises
· Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment; provide rigorous, creative insight in complex situations; and exhibit advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage technology to solve problems
· Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
· Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools
