Position Summary

Core Technology Operations Application Development – Manager

At Deloitte Consulting, our Core Technology Operations specialists provide end-to-end services to help our client organizations manage their portfolio of IT applications, scale, and optimize critical business operations, drive speed to outcome and deliver business transformation. We offer a complete range of industry-leading services, providing flexible, recurring resource capacity for client initiatives, projects, tasks and enhancements which includes quality engineering, systems support, shared services, product engineering, and IT infrastructure. Our services provide ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and optimization for IT/engineering applications and products around application development, process optimization and automation to help drive speed to outcome, deliver business transformation and build resilience in an uncertain future.

We are looking for candidates with previous outstanding leadership experience, strong hands-on IT development skills and excellent communication skills to join Deloitte Consulting, LLP. Experienced Managers collaborate with our clients’ business and IT organizations to deliver business-led, technology-enabled solutions that help enterprises adapt to their unique challenges and opportunities. Each incoming practitioner is provided with a range of project opportunities to develop their skills and interests while also building a strong foundation as a technologist and future leader at Deloitte.

Work you’ll do
You will be an integral member of a client service team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to help solve meaningful business problems, managing day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors. You will be responsible for supporting large complex IT systems – these applications are often high-volume mission critical systems and would provide you with an exposure to a broad range of technologies across all Cloud and on prem systems. You will work with global functional and technical teams on engagements that leverage a high degree of automation, the latest technologies and cut across support and development work. 

Required Qualifications

  • Four-year degree required with 8+ years of relevant industry experience (excluding internships) managing and delivering systems
  • A solid understanding of the ITIL framework with experience working on other frameworks such as Spring, Struts, Springboot, Hibernate, Webservices, etc.
  • Previous hands-on development skills in at least one of the following: Java, .Net, Mainframe
  • Experience working on projects related to large scale application development, testing, Cloud or similar areas of technology with a knowledge of the SDLC, basic testing and development concepts.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% nationally
  • Leadership experience should include managing and leading technology teams on and offshore, with ideally a team of at least 20 people
  • Experience and passion for leading global IT teams and mentoring team members.
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Agile environment. Agile certifications and other related certifications such as a PMP are a plus
  • Previous experience working in a multi-vendor environment with third parties is a plus
  • Experience with industry standard System Development Life Cycle methodologies
  • Ability to work independently and plan and manage multiple assignments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
