Position Summary

ConvergePROSPERITY - InsurCloud IPT | DevOps Engineer

This full-time DevOps Engineer role within Deloitte’s ConvergePROSPERITY offering will support Deloitte’s InsurCloud asset. ConvergePROSPERITY partners with financial services institutions to help them meet their customers’ needs for security, prosperity, convenience, personalization, and purposeful use of capital through a suite of digitally-enabled, scalable and integrated platforms and solutions.

As part of ConvergePROSPERITY, the InsurCloud team is building next generation digital products for our property and casualty insurance clients that will enable them to drive growth, increase profitability, and enhance their policyholders’ experiences.

Work You’ll Do

As a DevOps Engineer working on our InsurCloud platform, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and deploying cloud DevOps capabilities to support innovate products and solutions that enhance the customer and agent experience for our property and casualty insurance clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use your expertise in DevOps methodologies and practices to build a better Cloud development environment
  • Build new automation to expand and maintain Cloud hosting
  • Assist IT and development teams with Cloud management tasks
  • Maintain multiple DevOps environments based on team and customer requirements
  • Coach development teams on DevOps best practices
  • Identify new tools and processes to improve the Cloud platforms
  • Collaborate with remote team members to build and maintain positive, productive team relationships
  • Develop positive relationships with teams involved in the downstream technical processes
  • Work with engineering teams to implement application build and deployment processes and deployment pipelines
  • Create, implement, and manage the tools and scripts to automate everyday DevOps operations
  • Support application and product feature release management across the development life cycle through to production deployment
  • Coordinate with application and system development engineers trouble shoot and resolve deployment issues
  • Identify and advise new tools and processes to improve the DevOps process to increases an organization's ability to deliver applications and services at high velocity


  • Bachelor-level degree in IT related field or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of relevant consulting, industry or technology experience with DevOps processes, tools and technologies
  • 2+ years of experience supporting large application build and cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Understanding of core DevOps practices (Configuration Management, Continuous Integration, Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment, Continuous Monitoring)
  • Understanding of DevOps integration with automated testing and/or automation deployment verification.
  • Demonstrated experience with common configuration management version control, continuous integration, build and deployment tools (Argo, Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, Ansible)
  • Experience with application deployment to containers (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, AWS ECS, AWS Fargate, AWS ECR)
  • Solid understanding of AWS tools, services and infrastructure (AWS CLI, IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, EBS, EFS, ELB, SG, NACL, API Gateway, Lambda, Certificate Manager, Systems Manager, Secrets Manager)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code templates (Terraform and AWS CloudFormation)
  • Experience with Linux and Windows OS administration
  • Experience with Scripting Languages (Python, Linux Shell, Microsoft PowerShell)

  • Excellent communication and analytics skills; comfortable communicating in team settings
  • Ability to understand requirements and identify appropriate technologies for building prototypes
  • General business knowledge in Financial Services and/or Insurance industry
  • Technical Certifications in one or more leading cloud providers: AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP

·       The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range is $73,000-$134,000.
