Deloitte recently launched the Converge™ hybrid market offering as part of a $750M investment in product development over the next 5 years, which will blend the agility of a startup and the reach of a leading professional services firm. Converge is launching a Banking Suite product line to compete in the exciting FinTech ecosystem, which will focus on delivering a world-class customer experience for consumer and small businesses of smaller banks and non-banks. The Banking Suite platform is a cloud-native stack at every layer and aims to help Banking Suite clients compete with large bank incumbents and FinTechs with the flexibility to deliver innovative marketing, product, and pricing strategies, while enjoying dramatically lower digital bank operating costs. The Banking Suite team is looking to build a FinTech startup team with a passion for innovation and the experience to launch a high-quality digital banking product.

Work You’ll Do

  • Technical leadership and hands-on development in UI (Flutter) and/or backend software (Java Spring Boot) for BankingSuite’s most innovative applications serving consumers, employees and B2B bank clients.
  • Customers and clients who use our apps have a seamless experience and rate our apps as 4+ out of 5 stars.
  • Create innovative and industry-leading applications for existing or new financial service offerings, collaborate with team members to define the technical design and POC new concepts.
  • Build apps that end users engage with, while improving consumer financial health and/or B2B banking client profitability.

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Customers and clients who use BankingSuite apps say “WOW”. The industry recognizes BankingSuite as a leader in fin-tech and as the “go-to” platform for digital banking transformation 
  • Hands-on technical design and development for multiple custom applications, with the build out or integration to enterprise API’s and/or the BankingSuite FinTech vendor ecosystem. 
  • Create high-quality and error-free apps with technical consistency 
  • Produce coherent technical design deliverables that solve BankingSuite’s most challenging application architecture problems, such as and flexibility and accuracy in supporting multiple tenants on a complex fin-tech platform 
  • Improve prospect conversion, customer adoption, and retention by building high-quality apps and delivering a technical framework for tracking all user behavior metrics across both UI and non-UI interactions 
  • Ensure availability, scalability, performance, and capacity from development through production, reduce errors on deployments, improve release reliability, and increase speed of implementation through automation 
  • Execute multi-tenancy and business configurability patterns to ensure efficient distribution to multiple clients on the BankingSuite SaaS platform 
  • Actively work to eliminate technical debt through both large code-refactoring and tactical ongoing efforts 
  • Ensure key stakeholders are continuously informed of the quality of the application architecture 
  • Adhere to software quality and efficiency measurement standards 

 


Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years hands-on fin-tech software development with experience in multiple enterprise technologies and specific focus in retail banking and multi-tenancy architectures. Must have exposure to applications that can scale to M customers and B transactions across 100’s of clients as part of a platform across multiple tenants and have familiarity with various SaaS distribution models.
  • Hands-on software development skills with experience delivering customer-facing and enterprise-class monetary applications. Some of the following financial technologies: core banking and/or payment systems, record keeping systems, and personal financial management
  • Must be adept at software integration patterns (i.e. the Addison-Wesley Signature Series including EAI patterns and Fowler’s greatest publications) and know how to transform theory into working software, with a specific focus on creating a business configurability layer across all applications
  • Must be proficient in cloud-native and serverless app development technologies and techniques with the following enterprise technologies (or like representations): Java (Spring Boot a plus), AWS Cloud Native, PaaS solutions, API platforms, IaC techniques, DNS and load balancers, networking components, web apps, iOS apps, Android apps, HTML/Javascript, RDBMS and no SQL servers, and security technologies such as SSL/TLS. 
  • Proficient with emerging DevOps methods and tools, such as agile/scrum, infrastructure as code, continuous integration, automated configuration management, test driven development, and data center/cloud automation
  • Experience with larger development teams that work on business-facing transactional systems with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with developers, make architectural decisions, and understand business processes to deliver the cleanest solutions
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field (M.S. preferred)

Preferred:

  • Strong verbal and written communications, adept at explaining complex technical concepts and sharing your knowledge with technical audiences
  • Interest in all digital consumer interaction models, from web to mobile to push notifications to emerging HCI channels such as Alexa
  • Passionate about test-driven development, clean code, test automation, and continuous deployment
  • Passion and experience for identifying and providing feasible solutions for reducing technical debt and can directly execute improvements across the stack

  
  
  
  
  
  
  
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $114,000-$209,000.
  • You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
