Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consulting, Solution Specialist in Mechanicsburg, PA and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do

Provide software development and implementation services to help companies unlock the value of technology investments, ranging from requirements to architecture, design to development, testing to deployment, and beyond as discrete services or comprehensive solutions. Provide support for all phases of the software development lifecycle utilizing Software Development Life Cycle methodologies for project implementation, including preparation, business blue printing, realization, go-live, and post go-live support. Utilize major software platforms and create custom coding artifacts using various programming languages. Build, deploy and maintain customized tools or software to modernize legacy application architecture. Evaluate technology needs, develop customized applications and draft technical and functional design documentation; identify and mitigate risks in process and technology for engagements. Research user reported issues with software applications, identifying root causes and resolutions, implementing fixes, and liaising between business functions, end users, and technical delivery teams.

  • 15% Travel required nationally.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, any STEM field, or a related field. Must have 1 year of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Position requires 1 year of related work experience in each of the following:

  • Designing and developing applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Webservices to meet functional needs for software applications;
  • Utilizing Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams to convert business requirements into development models;
  • Developing and launching automation solutions using JUnit;
  • Delivering full lifecycle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA,) and microservices-based solutions using Extensible Markup Language (XML), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), and REST methodologies across Web applications;
  • Performing software development in IntelliJ, and Eclipse integrated development environments (IDE), and performing web service testing, using Postman, and SoapUI;
  • Designing and maintaining coding standards to enhance application development, using enhanced naming conventions, and reusability;
  • Performing aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including planning, implementation, testing, maintenance requirements gathering, application configuration design, scripting, code deployments, triage of defects and change request implementation; and
  • Creating technical and functional specifications, including screen layouts, navigation flows, logic diagrams, data models, process models, and pseudo code, utilizing MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
