Position Summary

Manager Consulting Corporate Development

Consulting Corporate Development is looking for a high performing Manager to lead evaluation and analysis of acquisitions and other large-scale investments for Consulting on a full-time basis.

Work you’ll do

The Manager is responsible for supporting the development of inorganic growth strategies and leading acquisition efforts working with the leaders of high priority practices within Consulting.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support development and execution of inorganic growth strategies
  • ·       Market landscaping/segmentation, developing target profiles
  • Targeting and screening of potential acquisitions
  • Development of strategic rationale for investment (market analysis, competitive analysis, business model development)
  • Directing scope of financial and other diligence related analyses
  • Development of the financial business case for investment
  • Leading commercial due diligence for potential acquisitions
  • Development of the future state operating model for practice areas post-investment
 

The Manager will work closely with acquisition Business Sponsors, Consulting practice leaders, DC and US Executive leadership, and US Corporate Development teams.  The Senior Manager role will lead teams composed primarily of project resources from client service and team members from other functions within Deloitte Consulting and Deloitte Services.

Qualifications

Key activities include:

  • Working with practice leaders to refine, prioritize and roadmap growth priorities
  • Evaluating potential investments and developing compelling recommendations based on analysis
  • Articulating the business’s future state operating model principles, working with business and Corporate Development leaders to develop specific operating model structures and tactics
  • Note that this role will not lead post-merger integration efforts but will be responsible for driving an orderly handoff to a full-time PMI team
  • to present a compelling analysis and case for/against investment

Capabilities include:

§    Expertise in application of strategic frameworks and analysis to evaluate business problems

§  Logical structuring

§  Hypothesis based analysis

§  Experience with common methods and tools for interrogating business data

§  Able to tell a compelling business story through analysis

§    Experience throughout the acquisition lifecycle with a focus on acquisition strategy, strategic and financial analysis and due diligence

§    Business case structuring (leading the process, not a core competency)

§    Aptitude/Interest in high-growth emerging technology areas: e.g., Digital technologies, Cloud, Internet of Things, Cognitive Science/Artificial Intelligence

§    Broad knowledge of Consulting industries and service areas

§    Experience in leading client engagements and managing teams of Consulting professionals

§    Ability to manage project resources and peer level/senior resources to complete scope of work

§    Exceptional communication, presentation, relationship building skills

§    Ability to adapt quickly to changing business environment

§    Strong planning and organizational skills with great attention to detail

§    Self-motivated, results oriented and able to work independently, and cooperatively within a team

§    Successful candidates will have 7+ years of total experience including Consulting experience in addition to Corporate Development or Buy Side Banking

§    Successful candidates will be expected to develop a deep knowledge of Deloitte’s internal processes and build a strong personal brand based on acquisition expertise
