Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consultant, Core Business Operations, Core Industry Solutions in Atlanta, Georgia and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do

Provide software advisory and implementation services to unlock the value of big technology investments as discrete services or comprehensive solutions. Help define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design, prototype, and test custom technology solutions, and support system implementation. Research user reported issues with software systems, identify root causes and resolutions, implement fixes, and liaise between business functions, end users, and technical delivery teams. Track implementation defects using defect tracking tools, coordinate defect resolution efforts, and document resolution details. Design sub-components of larger systems integrate the applications with each other, and continuously optimize the system structure to improve stability and performance. Collect data points to help establish project strategies using Microsoft (MS) Project Plan to identify metrics for resourcing, budgeting, timeline tracking, and making sure expected milestones are achieved. Create technical and functional system requirements and use cases, including screen layouts, navigation flows, logic diagrams, data models, and process models.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or a related field and one (1) year of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Must also have one (1) year of related work experience involving each of the following:

  • Implementing core systems transformations for P&C Insurance (Property and Casualty) projects through SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes including Agile and Waterfall methodologies and Guidewire products including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and Guidewire Digital Portals;
  • Conducting JAD (Joint Application Development) sessions with project stakeholders using Guidewire InsuranceSuite/Product designer, creating process workflows, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies), functional specifications, and project initiation artifacts for project lifecycle;
  • Partnering with the client counterparts to understand integration requirements for Commercial and Personal lines insurance products, developing technical specifications documents, and working with developers and testers for end-to-end integration build;
  • Defining product model requirements and creating product specification templates for Personal and Commercial lines of businesses to cater to the business needs;
  • Identifying and analyzing the opportunities and gaps by initiating efforts in the business process improvements for policy transactions including data conversion;
  • Implementing business modeling using MS Visio to develop business architecture for the Guidewire InsuranceSuite including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and Guidewire Digital Portals;
  • Configuring SoapUI (Simple Object Access Protocol User Interface) and setting up data in third-party systems for Guidewire integration projects;
  • Analyzing system performance and initiating process improvement measures for Web-based applications including Guidewire Digital Portals;
  • Facilitating and managing Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective workshops for Agile based projects by using project tracking tools including Jira and HP ALM (Application Life Cycle Management); and
  • Facilitating and driving business demos, exploratory testing workshops, and developing integration test plans, scenarios, and cases for Regression and UAT (User Acceptance) testing to improve overall quality of the application.
