Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consultant, Core Business Operations, Cloud Engineering in Chicago, Illinois and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do

Support implementations of Cloud-based technologies, including data cleansing and conversions, interface design and development, application suitability assessment, and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Enable end-to-end journey from On-Premise to Cloud and perform design, development and implementation within the following focus areas: Cloud messaging, ground-to-Cloud connectivity, Cloud Strategy, Op Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & Application Programming Interface (API), Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure and Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. Design and develop data governance standards, roles and responsibilities, interaction models, and design data conversion strategies and facilitate data conversion, mapping and cleansing workshops to support the conversion to Cloud. Convert legacy data according to current systems data structure using data warehouse concepts, design conversion strategies and mapping rules between legacy data and the current system database to facilitate data conversion. Perform assessments of existing information systems, identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities, and provide application analysis and implementation plans to meet enterprise architecture and infrastructure goals. Research user reported issues with software applications, identify root causes and resolutions, implement fixes, and liaise between business functions, leadership, end users, and technical delivery teams. Create technical and functional system requirements and use cases, including screen layouts, navigation flows, logic diagrams, data models, process models, and pseudo code, to be used for application development or enhancement. Track application defects using defect tracking tools, coordinate defect resolution efforts, and document resolution details. Design sub-components of larger application systems and integrate the applications with each other and continuously optimize the system structure to improve stability and performance. Provide industry insight and analytical support using data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modelling tools, to be used for leadership reporting.

Requirements 

Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Engineering (Any), any STEM field, or a related field and one (1) year of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Must have one (1) year of related work experience involving each of the following:

  • Conducting application suitability assessments against required business metrics for scaling on the Cloud and transitioning applications to be Cloud suitable;
  • Performing total cost estimation for required Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft (MS) Azure, public Cloud virtual machines, infrastructure, monitoring tools and key security measures;
  • Utilizing J2EE, .NET, and Cloud technology development languages and tools to innovate current technology solutions and build custom-made solutions;
  • Gathering requirements for design and implementation of Business Intelligence (BI), Data Warehousing solutions, and leveraging Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to enhance data loading and ensure continuous monitoring for data quality;
  • Compiling application data into a central repository by running Structured Query Language (SQL), Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and other queries, and conducting application analyses to identify and resolve gaps between existing attributes and target state requirements;
  • Building complex data models for required data attributes and table structures using SQL DB modeler, Erwin and other client preferred software tools;
  • Working with Agile Business teams to develop user stories using Jira and relevant software, and run through full-fledged use cases to improvise current system and data processes in place; and
  • Developing dashboards using Advanced Excel, VBA scripts, Tableau and other data visualization software for generating project insights and reporting.
