CORE BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Core Business Operations (CBO) is an integrated set of offerings that addresses our clients' core business issues. CBO provides a gamut of consulting services spanning advisory, implementation and operations. CBO practitioners help our clients transform, modernize, and run their existing technology platforms right from process design to implementation and finally ensuring roll-out transition. 

CBO has four different offerings — Systems Engineering focused on design, delivery and support of large scale software applications and integrated systems; Cloud Engineering focused on end-to-end cloud services from migration strategy into transformation and cloud operations; Sector Packages focused on industry vertical, sector specific solutions that drive operational change and automate the core of the business; and Operations Transformation focused on creating a flexible, innovative business model for clients supported by a strong operations foundation. CBO serves clients across Life Sciences and Health Care, Government & Public Services and Financial Services among other industries.

CONSULTANT

As a Cloud Strategy Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for working collaboratively within integrated cross functional teams to deliver comprehensive strategies that enable Cloud and Infrastructure Transformations. Teamwork is crucial as teams are composed of a diverse group of specialists across multiple disciplines from both within our consulting practice and from our clients, helping drive towards a successful outcome.  Our practitioners are expected to own and deliver their respective deliverables while managing different clients and other stakeholders.

Work You’ll Do

Advise, design and implement Cloud visions, strategies, roadmaps and architectures that increase the speed, quality, consistency and agility of IT services provided to the business

Select, design, optimize and transform the infrastructure and facilities that make up clients’ data centers – to create agile, software defined data centers

Provide broad, scalable alternatives designed to move clients constantly forward on their Cloud journey

Revisit clients’ business and operating models to unearth new opportunities, produce meaningful results and determine ways to harvest costs, target technology investments leading to competitive differentiation and transforming the cost structure from fixed to variable

Perform cloud financial analysis, Total cost of ownership for cloud transformation or embarking on cloud journey

Advise on DevOps, Container technology and Microservices

Perform Cloud Migration and PMO for large scale cloud transformation programs

The team

Cloud Strategy practitioners who form a part of CBO focuses on enabling our client’s end-to-end journey from On-Premise to Cloud, with opportunities in the areas of: Cloud Strategy, Op Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & APIs, Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. We help our clients see the transformational capabilities of Cloud as an opportunity for business enablement and competitive advantage.

Cloud Engineering supports our clients as they improve agility and resilience and identifies opportunities to reduce IT operations spend through automation by enabling Cloud. We accelerate our clients towards a technology-driven future, leveraging vendor solutions and Deloitte-developed software products, tools, and accelerators.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

Technology graduation (Engg./MCA) + MBA Degree is required

Prior Experience:

2-5 years of relevant experience

Skills / Project Experience - required:

Ability to identify and articulate the business and technology drivers of Cloud computing across industries.

Experience in cloud infrastructure design – designing data, storage and networking infrastructure, addressing disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Understanding of different backup, replication, disaster recovery and high availability technologies

Knowledge of major Infrastructure as a service provider

Prior project experience in at least one of the below areas - 

o Cloud financials and business case

o Cloud operating model

o DevOps, Container technology and Microservices

o Migration management / PMO

Cloud migration processes – refactoring, re-platforming and re-hosting

Design, development and testing of network architectures that include integration of key software components such as web/application servers, middleware, RDBMS, development environments, operational components, and security products

Addressing security issues and implementing governance mechanisms for optimal delivery of Cloud services

Certifications / experience in public cloud offerings and cloud technologies by major players such as AWS, GCP, Azure VMware 

Excellent analytical skills and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)

Ability to chart one’s own career and build networks within the organization

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels

Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and raise concerns/questions where appropriate

Interact with clients on a regular basis through face to face interactions/ video conferences / teleconferences/ mails to understand client’s processes and business problems

Manage projects or project modules independently

Skills / Project Experience - good to have:

Awareness of industry trends, challenges, technology adoption levels and solution landscape

1-2 years with single industry focus

One life cycle project execution experience in recommending and/or implementing Cloud strategy and solutions for improving business outcomes
