Position Summary

Job Overview:

Deloitte Cloud Services reports to the office of the Deputy CIO of Technology and is responsible for delivering cloud solutions which accelerate the delivery of both revenue-generating and internal applications. Deloitte Cloud Services supports software development efforts and provides best practices which streamline and fully automate the release management pipeline. 

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will assist in the delivery of world-class cloud solutions for the office of the Deputy CIO of Technology by providing Cloud Platform and operational support on Deloitte Cloud hosted services. This includes taking a engineering role in the cloud architecture and Supporting platform.. You will support solutions that enable rapid adoption of new cloud services and help drive transformation for our business and IT processes.

Your responsibilities will include supporting cloud solutions based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and other platforms as assigned. You will be challenged to find solutions to problems that arise during the rapid adoption of new cloud services.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Cloud Platform Engineer will be able to discover standard cloud services offerings, install, and execute processes and standards for optimal use of cloud service provider offerings
  • Responsible for generating scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources
  • Responsible for debugging technical issues inside a complex stack involving virtualization, containers, microservices, etc.
  • Collaborate with the engineering teams to enable their applications to run on Cloud infrastructure.
  • Build software for the organization’s systems and ES as a service offering
  • Stay well-informed of failures and complications related to a cloud offering
  • Monitor and resolve incidents, changes, and requests reported in ServiceNow and via e-mail.
  • Work with architecture and engineering teams to ensure that appropriate documentation is created to resolve level III support issues.
  • Ensure that all operational solutions follow security and compliance controls.
  • Escalate complex operational issues to level 3 support as needed.
  • Be a trusted advisor for Cloud Users initiatives by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights, and advice.
  • Participate in on-call rotation queue.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in any of the Leading Cloud Service Provider: Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape
  • Real world IT infrastructure management experience. (Servers, Virtualization, Storage, Networking, Applications).
  • Programming and scripting skills Python, Node.js, Java, JavaScript.
  • Thorough understanding of infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, storage, monitoring, security etc.) and have experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solution.
  • Build and automate the provisioning of infrastructure resources to support custom stacks, primarily leveraging scripting for deployment automation
  • Willingness and ability to learn how to support multiple Cloud platforms
  • Ability to work a schedule that accommodates on call support hours.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately with corporate executives and technical teams.
  • Good influencing and reasoning skills; good at conflict resolution and consensus building 
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems and/or relevant professional experience and accomplishments

 For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 to $110,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
