AWS Cloud Migration Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure Engineer)

Moreover, this Portfolio seeks to enhance our clients’ business operations, and help them take advantage of new technologies. As our clients navigate dynamic and disruptive markets, these solutions are designed to help them drive product and service innovation, improve financial performance, accelerate speed to market, and operate their platforms to innovate continuously.

As a Portfolio we also have the specific responsibility of driving our strategy and investment around Cloud. This focus, in addition to our previously established software engineering and operational transformation capabilities, positions us for long-term success in the market.

Cloud Engineering

Our Cloud Engineering team focuses on enabling our client’s end-to-end journey from On-Premise to Cloud, with opportunities in the areas of: Cloud Strategy, Op Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & APIs, Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. We help our clients see the transformational capabilities of Cloud as an opportunity for business enablement and competitive advantage.

Cloud Engineering supports our clients as they improve agility and resilience and identifies opportunities to reduce IT operations spend through automation by enabling Cloud. We accelerate our clients towards a technology-driven future, leveraging vendor solutions and Deloitte-developed software products, tools, and accelerators.

Qualifications and Experience:

Technical Requirements

  • Experience with setting-up foundational services and landing zone in a greenfield and/or brownfield cloud platform context – specifically on AWS. Expertise in OS, networking and cloud architecture fundamentals
  • Experience with provisioning of the AWS services using CloudFormation Templates and/or Terraform
  • Knowledge of core AWS products and services (e.g. VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, ELB), AWS (Iaas & Paas Components)
  • Experience in Cloud Virtual Network, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud CDN, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud DNS, Network Service Tiers – across multiple availability zones and regions.
  • Experience in Cloud Storage, Compute, App Hosting, Web and Mobile Apps
  • Experience in migrating of VMs using various AWS Native tools such as AWS Application Discovery Service, AWS Server Migration Service, AWS Database Migration Service, CloudEndure Migration, AWS Migration Hub
  • Experience with managing or supporting migrations of VMs from On-perm to cloud
  • Experience working with scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms).
  • Experience working with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Jenkins).
  • Strong CLI and API technology use experience (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Bash, YAML or JSON)
  • Experience with Windows, Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration (e.g., filesystems, inodes, system calls) or networking (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, network topologies and hardware, SDN).
  • Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates and key management.
  • Hands-on knowledge for migrating OS workloads to AWS\ Azure
  • Understanding of migration concepts and mechanisms (e.g. The 6 R's; synchronization mechanisms - block, image, file; sequencing and application grouping; landing zone/blueprints

Consulting Requirements

  • 4-6 years' experience working explicitly in or with cloud technologies
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communicator
  • Willingness to travel up in case of project requirement

Preferred

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate / Professional Level (strongly desired)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of ITIL and/or agile methodologies.
  • Experience migrating databases into AWS
  • Experience database/data store technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, etc)
  • Experience using DMS (Database Migration Service)
  • Experience using SMS (Server Migration Service)
  • AWS Certifications
