Cloud Database Engineer

The Deloitte Consulting Innovation I&P Organic Platforms is the leading-edge product development facility for Deloitte Consulting; focused on creating cloud-based software and advanced analytics products. The portfolio spans multiple software technologies including wearables, machine learning and advanced analytics, social/mobile, and other leading technologies.

Work you’ll do

Our strategy is to augment our leading services practice with software and analytics products that strike at the heart of our clients' business problems providing them with differentiated products. To do this, our I&P Organic Platforms is built up of multiple teams including user experience/user interface designers, software architects and engineers, infrastructure and operations staff, testers, and developers. All of which follow our software quality assurance methods and standards.  We are looking for people who are passionate about technology and innovation and can develop ideas into products that are relevant to solve business problems.

The team

 As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will be part of a team building, implementing, and administrating a leading-edge data center cloud to support Innovation products and solutions.  The responsibilities include architecting the cloud, network, installing, maintaining, and supporting the tools, products, and infrastructure to meet the demands of a fast-growing cloud-based software business including:

  • Provide Cloud Native Data Support operations which includes patching, monitoring, communications within the organization.
  • Provision, monitor, and maintain, Hive, Hana, Athena, AWS Redshift, EMR, Glu and RDBMS Databases like Mongo/PostgreSQL.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.
  • Enhance existing automation environments and streamline development to production operations or drive new automation initiatives with respect to Big Data.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams’ collaboration and help debug Database issues.
  • Collaboration and communication with senior leadership and clients
