Work you’ll do

The Cloud Asset Architect will be responsible to align the assets to FedRAMP Moderate/High controls, advising on technical/technology changes required to get FedRAMP certified and deployed in GovCloud.  This individual must have a thorough understanding and experience with AWS GovCloud. Other cloud service offerings like GCP and Azure are a plus.  Must be an innovative problem solver, and visionary. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in FedRAMP accredited cloud architectures and operations procedures.  Knowledgeable in the Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes.  The Cloud Asset Architect will be focused on the following activities:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and opportunities, evaluate feasibility of requirements, determine priorities and come up with application architecture options and a technical roadmap.
  • Make high level design choices for the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms within FedRamp requirements.
  • Evaluate different suitable technology options and determine if applicable existing solutions allow leadership to make prudent choices.
  • Support and coach technical team on best coding practices, development tools, and pathfinding and surveys for technologies.
  • Get hands-on and support your team in the implementation of complex business logic and algorithms
  • Consistently strive to acquire new skills on Cloud, DevOps, Big Data, AI and ML technologies.
  • Think towards creating container based applications, (Kubernetes, Docker), strive for full automated solutions in GovCloud.
  • Ensure SDLC and FedRAMP best practices and standards are followed 
  • Design, and implementation of AWS GovCloud hosting environments, which will primarily focus on client facing workloads
  • Provide design and architecture support of multiple cloud environments, Primarily AWS GovCloud. 
  • Researching and evaluating the FedRAMP accredited cloud technologies, tools, and capabilities to improve operational efficiencies and provide new services
  • Provide guidance, and work with application owners, and solution groups to ensure proper architecture, function, and security standards are being followed for client projects and solutions in Deloitte's FedRamp ecosystem

The Cloud Hosting Infrastructure Team architects, deploys, and supports the cloud environments through the entire project lifecycle.



  • US citizenship required for public sector clients. Ability to attain secret clearance.
  • 6+ years of technology experience in a FedRAMP accredited GovCloud environment
  • 4+ years of architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of cloud technologies and platforms.
  • Bachelor-level degree in engineering, information technology, data communications, telecommunications, computer science, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications.
  • Deep Experience in building products/solutions/assets using cloud based platforms. Ability to build applications using cloud native services/technologies is a must.
  • Deep Experience in designing and building distributed applications
  • Hands on Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, Golang), databases & concepts (normalization/optimized query design/database design), data structures, Object Oriented Concepts
  • Hands on Experience working with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Ability to understand and FedRAMP requirements and identify right technologies for building prototypes
  • General business knowledge in a domain / industry (e.g. demand planning / forecasting, financials, etc.)
  • Solid experience in SDLC practices and tools (DevOps)
  • Experience with shell scripting or comparable experience
  • Knowledge on RPA & Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef
  • Knowledgeable in Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes
  • Expert in AWS GovCloud computing technologies.
  • Knowledge of full lifecycle management of environments from deployment, through maintenance, to decommission
  • Demonstrated experience leading large projects, interpreting project requirements and working directly with clients to develop customized solutions
  • Preferred ability and discipline to work and succeed in a fast pace and organizationally complex environment, to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology, and to lead and manage projects
  • Excellent oral and written communications ability.  Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization


  • Certifications in cloud technologies preferred
  • Knowledge in other cloud technologies such as Azure, and Google is a plus.
